nutcracker season is almost at its end. hang in there, cory.
Is there a particular sugar plum fairy costume you guys are thinking of for Terpsichore? In case someone? maybe? wanted? to draw it very badly?? asking for a friend
YES THERE IS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING.
hey. mod payton here. with FAR too many opinions on Nutcracker costuming. the sugarplum fairy costume that Cory wears is the one from the National Ballet of Canada’s production (which is a production I’m not 100% in love with but the costuming is ACE). Here are some reference photos:
If you want other costume references, let us know! we will be MORE than happy to provide
quick question: who’s clara in the nutcracker??
One of the young girls from the school is chosen every year! Cory danced Clara once upon a time. Daphne danced Clara the year that Cory made her Sugarplum debut, which set Daph on her life long quest to dance that role.
Using leftover fabric from my mice to try and figure out how I want to do the dress. Unfortunately I can’t properly fit it because there isn’t enough space between the arm and his FAT ASS to squeeze fabric though. So we’ll need to either remove the arm entirely or sandpaper some skin off.
Obviously you can see how the tie at the front brings the entire waistline down. Cue second attempt
I forgot I didn’t have tape so I’m using leftover stickers, lol. This has a paper hoop I fold the fabric over, like I’m stuffing my shirt into my pants but also suck at it. Intentionally. Hopefully tomorrow I can prime it (got it tonight but it’s too cold outside) and start painting. I’ll feel better when I can actually see how everything is coming together.
