Replica Delta Force Custom 2-Hole NVG Ground Mount Shroud and ANVIS Adapter Shim
An iconic piece of Delta Force brainbucket hardware seen from 2004-2007 to even as late as the 2010's in one instance. Reproductions are far and few between, especially of the correct adapter shims.
These shrouds were largely unpopular with the unit because unlike the Norotos Rhino Shrouds they were based on, they lacked the rubber pads that prevented the mount from rattling once it was locked in.
You can see instances of unit guys with a telltale 'box' in the paint job where the 2-Hole Shroud used to be, was painted over, and then later removed (1st and 2nd photos above). Some operators, as mentioned before, liked the convenience of the shrouds enough to retain them, and one way they got over the rattling issue was to stick a piece of velcro on the inside of the shroud to fill in the gap (3rd photo, above).
^Several originals for comparison. The only real thing my replicas lack at this point is the aggressive tool marks left over from the machining process.
