She had snapped. The young man had come to her with lies in his eyes and hands that were dirty and grabby and he cornered her in a dark alley. At first, she had fought his hands off, slapping him away like a fly. But he kept coming and she just snapped, her fangs came down and she bit into his neck and sucked him dry. She emerged from the alley with blood dripping down her chin and onto her shirt and this girl asked her a question and Cassidy was in a slight daze, drunk off warm blood. She shook her head, “I’m okay,” she blurted out, knowing she needed to run home, she couldn’t be seen like this.
