I think it is mentioned in Investiture of Gods that Nuwa is like the daughter of the Jade Emperor, and therefore, also of Xiwangmu? However, I have seen that now she is not considered their daughter? or if she is really their daughter?

She isn’t his daughter from what I have read myself. Can you send me the passage that says that? That is interesting that FSYY says that she is his daughter when I personally never really hear anything about that.

I did have to look up who it says her parents are and I got that it was Suirenshi 燧人氏 and Hua Xi 华胥. Suiren is one of the three emperors that are considered vital for the development of civilization. Sometimes Nvwa is seen as one of these emperors as well, or even above them in terms of status.

I have to say that I have never seen her being interpreted as his daughter myself but modern media can change perspective and also that Nvwa is one of the oldest legends in Chinese mythos does lead to a lot of different variations of her that have been passed down, some dying out and some adding on to her lore, just depending even on the region that you live and what you are told. Like even the myth where she marries her "older brother" is just a later version of her that was trying to erase that she made humans from clay herself. I do see some interpretation of them where they are not siblings but still husband and wife and again it just depends on what variation you are reading.

Again if you could please send me the passage that says how Nvwa and the Jade Emporer are related I would love to see that! Maybe there is some other connection that can be translated from the passage or another variation I haven't heard about from the time period.

Nvwa therefore mended the Heavens by melting down colored stone, thus giving the sky its colors. Then she slew a soft-shelled turtle to create four poles at each corner of the earth to sufficiently prop up the sky, and left behind the myth of Nvwa repairing the sky.

Nvwa is not only a sky-mending, world-saving hero and a goddess who made people from the earth, but also a goddess who created all natural things. Her vast magic power transforms and creates all things, and can create at least 70 things every day. She is the divine force that started the creation of the world, so she is called the mother of the earth, and is widely and continually adored and worshipped as a creator and mother goddess. I was reading a little and it is said that it was with the lotus lantern that Nuwa repaired the sky, is that true? or is that more of a version of that myth?

She is! It's one of her greatest legends that she is known for.

"According to legend, in ancient times, the sky fell and the earth fell, and the world fell into a huge disaster. Nvwa couldn't bear the suffering of the living beings, so she made five-color stones to mend the sky, cut the feet of the divine turtle to support the four poles, calmed the floods and killed wild beasts, connected the yin and yang to remove the negative energy, and all the spirits could live in peace."

They even have statues of her committing such an act. There are different endings to this tale though most do that it that Nvwa was the one to save the heavens. In one ending she sacrifices her own life in order to mend the sky dying of exhaustion. In some myths about mending the sky, she either died of fatigue, used her body to mend the sky, or turned into the sun, moon, or all things.

weirdest new trend: western fans getting judgmental or self conscious about fuxi and nuwa being your typical brother-sister/husband-wife creator god duo like hello??

Oh wow I didn’t know about that! Very strange considering how popular Greek myth in the West and that is all wife-sister-niece-aunt/husband-brother-uncle-nephew relations that are best not thought about. Very inconsiderate at best to be judging another culture for having similar myths when that isn't uncommon in creation stories... the double standards are real.

I will admit, I was first introduced to Nvwa's story first and its original form when she was the lone creator. And I feel like a lot of media just use the myth that she is the only creator as well so that doesn't surprise me when people learn about her husband as he is rarely mentioned, and that Fuxi was only a later interpretation of her story. As much as I understand that the husband was added later because of trying to change how Nvwa's myth was told I wouldn't be too surprised if they just hear about her from recent JTTW media (not in the actual books let that be clear) or from Fengshen Yanyi or Nezha media and again she isn't depicted with a husband as he is near non-existant. It might be just my lack of seeing other media but I really don't think I've ever seen him in modern media. I know that might be just on me but at least that is my experience.

But it interesting video about the Nvwa's original myth that I higher recommend people see on how the two different myths 1. Her being a lone creation goddess and 2. When she is given her husband in later interpretations.

If you google if Nuwa is the daughter of the Jade Emperor, you usually get articles that will say that.

Ah, it's on wiki. But as much as it says it there I think that this might actually be confusing this Nvwa with another Nvwa. Thanks to @digitalagepulao who showed my that there is another Emporer who DOES have a daughter named Nvwa but they are different people.

Jingwei or previously known as Nvwa, was turned into a bird that is continuously trying to fill up the Eastern sea. She is a daughter of the Flame Emporer and is a slightly popular myth so perhaps this was just a mistake on names cause I asked around a few FSYY fans and neither they nor I can find a passage in FSYY that says Nvwa (the snake goddess) was related to JE.
