Perhaps   it's   because   she   is   not   used   to   such   journeys,   so   much   time   at   sea.   The   long   way   he   had   said   and   he   didn't   lie.   At   least   there   was   that.   Part   of   it   could   also   be   the   natural   rivalry   that   had   ruled   between   the   Lannisters   and   the   Ironborn   ever   since   the   time   of   the   Dance   of   the   Dragons,   when   Lady   Joanna   defended   the   stronghold   from   ironborn.   Or   just   that   he   seeks   to   vex   her   constantly,   and   how   easy   it   seems   to   get   a   rise   from   her.   "I   don't   like   you,   Captain."   She   speaks   up,   despite   how   her   heart   beats   up   as   he   returns   her   gaze   and   she   finds   herself   weak   on   the   knees.  

"And   you   don't   like   me."   He   had   said   it   himself,   right?   That   she   was   a   prissy   highborn   princess   who   thought   herself   too   good   for   anyone.   He   is   always   so   close   to   her   and   she   doesn't   find   it   in   her   to   push   him   away   everytime   (   her   mother   would   claw   his   eyes   out   with   her   bare   hands   ).   Instead,   emerald   eyes   stare   with   intensity,   her   breath   caught   up   on   her   throat.   "Why   do   you   insist   on vexing   me   through   the   entire   journey?"   A   short   pause   as   the   young   lady   raises   her   chin   up,   in   an   act   of   defiance,   or   perhaps   to   prove   she   is   not   backing   down.   "Keep   this   through   the   days   and   I   will   start   to   think   you   enjoy   my   company."

Sasuke tears his gaze from the building in front of them to look at her. Dark eyes reflect growing confusion at her words, along with some impatience. What else could he mean? He thought it pretty obvious, perhaps that's why he his next set of words sound sharper than usual.

"You set up this entire medical facility because of me?" He grows even more skeptical of the idea as it's voiced aloud. It's too much for someone like him. No. There has to be more at play here, and like fuck will he miss it. Shaking his head, he looks away from her gaze, finding it a little too honest for the situation.

"Sakura." He begins, but bites down on his tongue unsure where to begin. If anything he knows he should be direct, like he usually is. The words are struggling to be said though, because despite his suspicion he knows Sakura's character. She's not like that...but he's been manipulated one too many times as well.

"No-one does something like this," he jerks his head toward the small medical facility," for nothing." Each word feels like ash on his tongue.

Raiden cannot help the feeling of pity he feels for the construct. Once, when Cassie was a teenager, she’d been angry at her parents, and told Raiden ❝I didn’t ask to be born!❞. That had surprised him: after all, was life not a gift? Yet, she had seen it as a curse in that moment. He’d not understood until he had laid eyes on Mileena, now a prisoner to the Special Forces. She never asked to be made, to be this creature, to be used and abused to replace the Edenian Princess. It is no wonder she feels she should be the heir, and not Kitana. He unlocks the barred door first, much to the soldier’s dismay, to which Raiden explains: ❝I am a God. She will not harm me.❞ Though uncertain, the guard let him in, but locks the door behind him. And besides, the chains kept her in check as well.

Hands behind his back, Raiden stops at a safe distance regardless. ❝I trust you have been fed proper❞, he speaks, his voice softer, kinder than she had heard before now. ❝I can remove your chains, but you must promise to remain calm.❞
