Oh! The quote from my Blade of Marmora Keith art 8D Well, as we all know that’s not a canon quote but let me tell you how it came to be.
I was actually going to stream Blade of Marmora Keith back then so I wouldn’t be distracted, but it turns out that I couldn’t for some reason so I just stopped. The sketch was all there, and the more I looked at it, the more frustrated I got cause I felt like it was going to be really ugly (to be fair the sketch wasn’t pleasing to the eyes). I wanted to scrap it off but I’ve scrapped off sooo many voltron arts that I can’t just keep quitting because I’m a sissy who has no self confidence and then I remember KEITH DIDN’T QUIT WHILE HE WAS IN THAT BLADE OF MARMORA SUIT! lmao
So I’m like YEAH I CAN WORK THIS OUT. It’s a pretty simple pose, I can at least do that. If it turns out horrible, then I just won’t publish it. No big deal. Plenty of Keith in this suit to go around anyway. But then I got so into it, the suit, the hair… the stupid idea of a glow thingy hovering Keith’s neck. It was a dumb idea as I said in my tags but it fitted so well.
I began thinking while coloring his suit, what if the whole reveal was done DIFFERENTLY?
At one point Keith was on the verge of dying on the floor and this glowing circle picked him up and the Galra dude was like “We can’t just let this kid die. He fights like a Galra soldier, has the determination of one, too.”
Keith opens his eyes, wincing in pain. “What are you doing?”
“Surrender to the blade and the pain will cease.”
“Never.”
“Very well.” Galra dude smirks. He’ll just have to do this the hard way. He’ll find out what is this Paladin’s weakness and use it to make him quit. He looks at the other Galras in the room and they nodded to him in agreement. The thing on Keith’s neck can instantly kill him with their command if he continues to be difficult to them.
“Brave Paladin, reveal your hopes and fears.”
It’s something Keith protects and likes to keep as a secret, but at that moment he just let himself be because he was tired and he just desperately want to see someone. So he closes his eyes and reveals one thing he treasures the most in this world: Shiro.
But yes. Just imagine it being forced out of him against his will? That’ll be dramatic too. And thank you! It’s one of my faves too! <3
