“Run Off to Jamaica Bay,” a week-long series of images and text for “Walking the Edge,” a joint project of Works on Water, Culture Push, and the NYC Department of City Planning to celebrate NYC’s 520 mile coastline. Originally planned as a public durational walk beginning in May of 2020, WtE was instead presented via instagram due to the #Covid19 pandemic.
“Run Off to Jamaica Bay” considers the way that even when we don’t go to the shore, our paved streets and parking lots divert much of our rainwater there instead of allowing aquifers to be replenished.
