Thank you to everyone who came out in the cold yesterday to celebrate and support the opening of the new Elmhurst Community Library. On its very first day, this center of knowledge and community serviced over 3,400 visitors!

We'd especially like to thank Borough President Melinda Katz​, New York City Council Member Daniel Dromm​, Congresswoman Grace Meng​, State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky​, Assembly Members Jeffrion Aubry​ and Francisco Moya​, Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer​, New York City Department of Design and Construction​ (thank you for the ribbon-cutting photo) and Commissioner Feniosky Peña-Mora​, Marpillero Pollak Architects​, Stalco Construction and President Alan Nahmias, installation artist Allan McCollum​, Community 4 District and Manager Christian Cassagnol, Friends of Elmhurst Library and President Lester Fong, The Newtown High School Choir, Boyscout Troop 17 (the third oldest troop in New York City), and Elmhurst Community Library Manager Yasha Hu.
