Smokestack
There are two twin smokestacks at this site and as I was making my way towards them they stood as two sentinels keeping watch over their once proud and majestic brick structure. There are two arches within the smokestack both leading to two massive metal vents which would open and close but ultimately would open to release gases out into the atmosphere. This picture was taken right under one of the arches and I only wish I would have lowered the angle of my lens a bit more to capture the entire arch on the opposite side. Although you can make out that decay has had it's way within the stack, with pockets of loose brick towards the base of the stack it was impressive in that it was still sound structurally.
