the color for jack is blue. it’s the color of his hoodie in rise of the guardians and in this rp. blue is the color that represents him and his favorite. blue is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, expansiveness, inspiration, and sensitivity.

FOR THE AESTHETIC

p u r p l e; often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic. too much purple brings out qualities of irritability, impatience, and arrogance. magenta is a shade of purple and the fact that entrapta wears and surrounds herself with purple was part of the inspiration for the name change choice.

FOR THE AESTHETIC

g r e e n:  generally symbolizes nature and the natural world. often thought to represent tranquility, good luck, health, jealousy, greed, ambition, and wealth. reptiles are generally green. zippleback dragons are usually green. in how to train your dragon, ruffnut’s dragon barf breathes large amounts of green gas. raegan’s favorite color is green.

TASK ONE: FOR THE AESTHETIC

our first task is the google aesthetic challenge! it’s one of the easiest ways to do aesthetics if you’re not good at stuff like editing or pinterest. the directions are quite simple:

– type character name + color + aesthetic into google ( example: marshall orange aesthetic ). do not include last names.

– tumblr allows up to 10 images at once so you can pick any number between 4 and 10. the trick is, it should be the first 4-10 images that come up.

– the kinds of images you can skip are:

collages

gifs

character images ( i.e. if you search entrapta purple aesthetic, a bunch of pictures of the canon character are going to come up )

actor images ( i.e. if you search for rachel green aesthetic images of jennifer aniston in friends will come up )

pictures where the caption is for the name as opposed to the color aesthetic ( i.e. if you search for blythe green aesthetic and images by someone named blythe or blythe green come up )

– be specific! colors like green, gray, and black can also be last names. instead try a specific shade or type ( cece would use cecilia sparkly black aesthetic instead of cecilia black aesthetic otherwise she’s going to get a bunch of images of / from someone named cecilia black )

– if you’ve adjusted your character’s name, you can use either name ( i.e. entrapta’s name is magenta in the rp so cece could search either magenta or entrapta ) but keep in mind that their canon name might bring up a bunch of pictures of the character and you don’t want those! you’re also welcome to do one for both their canon name and their name in the rp if you want.

– the idea is to pick a color that represents the character or is the character’s favorite color. if they aren’t the same color, you are welcome to make 2 or make half of the aesthetic the color that represents them and the other half their favorite color. ( for yang, the color that represents her and her favorite color are basically the same so cece only made one aesthetic for yang. for a character like blake, the color that represents her is black but her favorite color is purple so in that case, rika might want to do a half black and half purple or make two separate aesthetics. )

– finish it off with a blurb! it doesn’t have to be long, but it should indicate if the aesthetic is the color that represents them, the character’s favorite color, or both. if the color is important to the character either in canon or in the rp, tell us why.

– make sure to tag it with nycom.task ( the way it is tagged at the bottom of this post )

– if you have stronger editing skills you are welcome to get creative with it but please try to keep it between 4-10 images. if you aren’t as experienced and need help feel free to message the main or dm admin cece diretly on discord!

for the aesthetic

y e l l o w: the color of sunshine, hope, and happiness, has conflicting associations. on one hand yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy, but on the other, it represents cowardice and deceit. a dull or dingy yellow may represent caution, sickness, and jealousy. 

 the color that represents yang is yellow. it’s canon, that’s why her name was picked for the series. she is her show’s representation of goldilocks. yang’s full name is yang xiao long which translates to “little light dragon” or “small dragon of the sunshine.” her powers are fire oriented. light, sun, and fire are generally depicted with yellow. gold is her favorite color so i incorporated that into the shade of yellow in the aeathetic.
