it's so interesting to watch Classic Who with people who aren't accustomed to that style of storytelling. because all of the dramatic "Do I have the right?" stuff in Genesis of the Daleks didn't work for them at all. the entirely unintentional but blatantly homoerotic relationship between Davros and Nyder on the other hand received great critical acclaim!

One thing I find completely ironic about the whole I, Davros series is that no matter how much Nyder and Davros talk about keeping their Kaled race pure and fit for surviving anything is that when they start experimenting on children and expecting mothers, they mutate the next generation of Kaleds so much they are anything but pure Kaled.
