Okay lovely booklrs, I'm about to finish up the asks/replies from my non ya love day (I had a migraine yesterday and couldn't see straight) so please blacklist or block that tag if you don't want to see that. 

I'll probably do this again in a week or two, it looks like it was a hit. (Although, perhaps with a different prompt? I was thinking the first adult book you read outside of school that you liked? Give me some ideas!?)

Wait, Night Circus wasn’t published as YA? I am somewhat surprised.

Nope, The Night Circus was published (and probably is mostly still published) as adult fiction. Although there's this cover that's clearly meant to get teens interested, I think. (It's pretty and making me want to buy it, lol)

As an aside, I’m not sure how I feel about the movie of it coming out this fall because in my head I picture him played by Richard Ayoade, but he is being played by Matt Damon. It has Sean Bean in a role that doesn’t die in the book though so I’ll watch it.

I heard about the movie, I didn't know it was a book! Oh, and it won the 2014 GR choice awards, wow, I'm observant. 

Books like this would terrify the shit out of me but it looks so good so I'm waffling on putting it on my tbr list.

My favorite non-YA book is Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut has the greatest black humour and irony, he's one of my favorites!

You know, I started reading Cat’s Cradle and for some reason I just didn’t like it very much and didn’t get very far. I really wanted to like it, but I don;t think I liked the writing? It was six or seven years ago, I might give it a go again!

I think I've heard of that, or, at least the movie that was made from it. (god is 9/11 already considered history? lol)

my favorite non-ya book is definitely the golem and the jinni by helene wecker-i mean, i haven't read many adult books, but the golem and the jinni is just an amazing book overall and i highly recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

I’ve heard lots of good things about The Golem and the Jinni. It’s pretty popular with people who liked The Night Circus so I think I’m going to add it to my tbr list. <3

OH I saw Tracy Chevalier on your list, Girl With a Pearl Earring is great! Clan of the Cave bear is cool, and I don't know how you feel about literary fiction but Written on the Body is one of the most thought-provoking books I've ever read. Ummm...I can recommend classics all day long, and the Gregory Maguire books are some pretty great adult fantasy!

I don’t usually read straight fiction (lols straight). I prefer romance or fantasy or horror or thrillers to fiction. And god do I hate classics. I have yet to find a classic that I like.

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. It has a little bit of historical  fiction going on, some romance and some paranormal. 

Absolutely love Animal Farm by George Orwell

These are the top two that spring to the top of my head. I know I read a bit of Non-YA so I don’t know why nothing is coming up :’(

The Gargoyle's synopsis kept throwing me off, I was expecting something totally different and then it kept twisting off to a different place than I was thinking.

Animal Farm was not my favorite George Orwell book, 1984 is definitely my favorite. (Then again, being forced to read books in school usually meant I hated them, although 1984 seems to be the exception).
