Gabe had arrived to the family home, with two gift bags in hand. He wasted no time to make his presence known. “Sylvester! Sam!” he yelled out, “Where are you two little suckers?” Once he found them, he greeted them, “¡Feliz Cumple-“ Pause. His arms lowered as he was thoroughly confused. “... Why are you dressed like cotton candy.” (@ask-miraculous-belarus)

“¡Es un juego! (it’s a game!)” The pink one replied.

“You can tell which one of us is Sam and which one of us is Sylvester, right?”

“You’ve known us all our life!”

The two exchanged looks and snickered. This has been a thing they did from time to time, even as kids. Everyone always had a hard time telling them apart so they came up with situations like this to make it even harder to tell.

Something old, something new

“So much is happening... I just don’t know how to deal with it. Amelia, Gabriel, Mattea— I’m just not sure what to do.” Sylvester sighed deeply and ran his hands through his hair. He looked and sounded very worn out and Trixx was beginning to worry. “Togos hasn’t shown herself since the Nemesis fiasco and I’m wondering if something happened to her too...”

“Maybe you should take a break, Kit. This... this isn’t good for you.” Trixx floated closer to their chosen.

Sylvester said nothing. He simply reached over and grabbed a book from his desk. A bible. His bible. He flipped through its pages until he landed on a photograph tucked carefully way.

‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ The passage under the picture read. Sylvester smiled bittersweetly as he turned his attention from said passage to the photograph. It was him, Sam, Amelia and Gabe as children smiling happily at the camera. He thought fondly over that day and many other happy memories from his childhood. He sighed deeply once again.

He thought to himself as he stared at the photo. The only way to go back to that time is in his dreams; but alas, he was not getting much sleep.
