Have some soft gay for your morning.
Confession: In ME2, I always feel that Nyxeris, Liara's assistant, sounds far too sarcastic to be taken seriously.
"I would rend the world for you if so wish it, little prince." I see a mature setting/post thing down here. I'm applying mild spice for you tumblr.
hiiii :D howre ya? Please do 1, 2, 3, and 13 for your main dragonborn oc! :D cheers!
Heeey! I’m not doing bad right now! But let’s get to it!
This is Nyxeris Vaenia Requirium, my main Dragonborn gal!
1. What is their background and backstory, summarised into a paragraph?
Nyxeris was born in a rich family in Cyrodiil. Her father Marcus was a cloth-merchant while her mother Phresia was a singer. They tried to raise her like a noble lady, but little Nyxeris was a tomboy: she was always running around with mud on her face and skinned knees, she couldn’t stand the other aristocratic girls of her same age and she preferred spending time with a servant boy named Terentius. After Terentius’ death at the hands of her father and the approaching of an arranged wedding with a man she didn’t even met, Nyxeris decided to run away from home. She stole a horse and rode until Darkwater Crossing, then she was captured by the Imperials.
2. What “class” do they follow (i.e. warrior, archer, mage, thief, etc.)?
Nyxeris usually wears heavy armor and fights with sword and shield, but she’s very good with Destruction magic too, especially fire-based spells. So I would say she’s a mix between a Warrior and a Spellsword.
3. How do they feel about being Dragonborn- does they identity feel right for them and did they embrace it immediately? Do they consider themselves a true dragon?
Oh, Nyxeris was terrified when she discovered she was a Dragonborn. She felt like she wasn’t the right person for the role and she feared she would let everybody down. So she started undergoing terrible trials that tempered her. She became stronger, ruthless... and sometimes she’s afraid of the person in the mirror.
13. Dungeon delving- are they a fan? Do they do it for fun, or money, or just because of circumstance? Do they prefer Dwemer or Nordic ruins?
She loves exploring dungeons! Not because of the money, but because she craves the thrill of adventure. And if she had to choose Nyxeris would pick Nordic ruins, because she doesn’t like running into Falmers.
You guessed it: another question game!
I was tagged by the amazing @the-redlion, thank youuuu! I remembered I did this before (it’s here if you want to read it https://ladynyxeris.tumblr.com/post/184927041650/15-mutuals-15-questions-game) so this time I’ll answer as my dovahkiin Nyxeris.
I tag whoever wants to do this!
1. Are you named after someone? No. At least I don’t think so... but “Nyx” means “night” and “Eris” means “discord”. Maybe my parents found this combination fitting. I bring darkness and chaos wherever I go.
2. When was the last time you cried? Three winters ago. I thought my lover had died in a horrible way, but it turned out he was alive and well.
3. Do you have kids? No. And I don’t plan to have any because I don’t think I would be a good mother.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes. It keeps me sane when I have to deal with stupid people.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? I see if they look me in the eyes or not. If not I tend not to trust them.
6. What’s your eye colour? Gold. Rather strange for an Imperial, I know.
7. Scary movie or happy ending? What’s a “movie”? But I think I’ll choose happy ending.
8. Any special talents? Oh. Um... some people say I’m a good singer, but I don’t do that often. Then I like drawing landscapes and people that I find beautiful.
9. Where were you born? Cyrodiil. But by now I feel like a Skyrim citizen.
10. What are your hobbies? Reading novels and cooking. I have a soft spot for dogs too.
11. Do you have any pets? Sadly no... I’m always on the move and I wouldn’t have the time to tend to them. I do have two horses though: Shadowmere and Frost.
12. What sport do you/have you played? I played chess in the past. And I participated in various jousts.
13. How tall are you? Not enough to be considered a threat at first sight, but enough to prove you wrong.
14. Favourite subject in school? You mean in College? The College of Winterhold? I love Restoration magic. Saved my life countless of times.
15. Dream job? Nothing beats being an adventurer. You’re free and you go wherever you want to go.
Since I already posted about my Sole Survivor I guess I’ll post about my Dovahkiin too. Here's some background info:
Her name is Nyxeris Vaenia Requirium, but her friends just call her "Nyx".
She's 24 years old.
Imperial.
Her father Marcus was a rich fabric merchant, her mother Phresia was a bard.
She used to live in a secluded villa in Cyrodiil.
When she was a kid she was bullied by other girls of her age because of her golden eyes. They called her "witch" and "demon", but they stopped when lil' Nyx, in a fit of rage, set on fire one of their pretty dresses with Destruction magic. The bullies didn't sustain significant injuries, but Nyx scared them to death with that show.
Since then the bullies stopped bothering her, but she became even more lonely as a result.
She's always been a bit of a tomboy, her knees were often scraped and her fingernails broken.
The only kid who wasn't afraid of her was Terentius, the son of the captain of the guards that guarded her family's mansion.
They played together all the time, and during this period Nyxeris was visibly happy.
All of this ended when both Nyxeris and Terentius were teenagers. Her father surprised them in the pool with barely anything on. So he assumed that Terentius manipulated his daughter and that he was about to force himself on her. Despite Nyxeris' pleas he had the boy executed along with his father, who tried to stop him. Marcus was actually looking for an excuse to get rid of Terentius, because he had arranged a marriage between one of his other (older) rich colleagues and Nyxeris. The boy was a threat for his plans.
Nyxeris was deeply traumatized by that event and lived until her 18th year of age lost in depression. However, one month before her wedding, she managed to steal a horse and rode towards Skyrim. She cut every tie with her family.
When she discovered she was the Last Dovahkiin her hopes of a normal life were shattered. Then she concluded that she wasn't strong enough to defeat Alduin and started doing everything - everything - to acquire more power: she joined the Dark Brotherhood, she became a werewolf running with the Companions, she learned the art of intrigue in the Thieves Guild, she studied her ass off at the College of Winterhold, she trained with the Greybeards and even made deals with various daedras.
Her first love was Ralof, but he broke up with her because she sided with the Imperials. She believes that the Empire was Skyrim's only hope against the Thalmors.
She dated Vilkas for a while. Sadly, the memories about Terentius' death keep haunting her every day. She ended up convincing herself that everyone she loves is destined to die horribly, so she pushes anyone away. As a consequence of this she gained the reputation of heartbreaker and maneater.
She's specialized in heavy armor and one-handed swords. She's rather good at Restoration and Destruction magic too.
Her favorite weapon is Dawnbreaker.
She fantasizes often about returning to Cyrodiil and blast his father off the villa's walls with a Thu'um.
She turned to skooma to cope with her traumas, but she quit after a drug lord on her tail almost killed Vilkas.
She's a dog person, even though she likes cats too.
She has a thing for blue-eyed guys, which aren't rare in Skyrim.
Ideally traitorous characters get something to do before they get revealed, because otherwise you just end up looking at their named asses in the background being suspicious and serving no other function. Nyxeris was one of those "do I really need to do this mission? I'm pretty sure I know who is the real culprit here" characters the very moment I got the quest. Alas, if Liara had only seen the amount of CSI episodes I have...
