So, I still haven't finished Veilguard and it's in no small part because of the writing. I can feel the meddling from higher ups all over it and it feels like a completely different IP with some DA paint slapped on top of it. It's clear that the writers weren't allowed to do what they do best and in that light perhaps it wasn't all that surprising that the last of the veterans on the writing team were let go shortly after its release. I'm just saying that if I was running a game studio that was cherished for its single player story driven games, I'd lean in to it and make it our niche rather than running after every fad like a headless chicken. And, you know, treasure the talent that helped build the company. But maybe that's just me ¯\(ツ)/¯ Either way, I wish the writers (no matter when they left) nothing but the best and I'm thankful for what they gave us. I'm also interested in seeing what they'll work on in the future.
Over at Patreon and redbubble, we don't throw our main artist out because we want something new. Mainly because this is a solo project, but still.
For all the talk of making Veilguard an accessible entry point to newcomers to Thedas, it sure skipped out on some key info right out the gate. What was that? Did *I* need a reminder on the significance of Arlathan? Wh- No! Obviously not! I- I know all Thedas lore like... like um... I had a vague memory, but it's been 10 years, stop judging me :(
If you have questions about what's going on over at Patreon, the comment section is always open. It's a bit harder to explain things over at redbubble though.
Sorry, Bioware, but I'm not calling it that. It wasn't Dragon Age: the Inquisition so it's going to be just Veilguard to me no matter what you do.
It's also not the Patreon or the redbubble.
I never decorate for any holiday, because I simply don't care enough to bother, but that would probably change if I had one of those beefy qunari statues in my living room. Why aren't Bioware selling those?
There are more qunari available on Patreon and stuff you can use to decorate your home with on redbubble. Luckily, there is some overlap.
Shortly after DAI came out I wrote a comic script and did some rough doodles. Then I put it down and forgot about it. About five years later I picked it up again and went "hm, actually, this isn't the worst", did some edits and tried again. And then uh... I put it down again. 10 years later, it's done, having spent as long in development hell as DAV. Ahem. Have some Hawke adventures in the fade, post-being left there in DAI. And also my tears because I had to look at close ups of spiders again.
Spiders are mercifully rare over at Patreon and non-existant over at my redbubble store.
I was more understanding of Astarion not wanting to make certain jumps in early access, when he still took damage from running water, but come on my dude - your dexterity is through the roof, why are you like this?* *The rest of the men are not any better. The number of times I've been forced to take direct control of them to get them down a small ledge is embarrassing.
The girls continue to do the heavy lifting over at Patreon but the men are, at least, contorting themselves appropriately over at redbubble.
Apparently, if you let Anders live, Sebastian decides that Kirkwall hasn't gone through enough in DAI and marches his Starkhaven army over to kick down its walls in his search for him. And Aveline leads the defense. One would think he'd follow the chaos that Hawke leaves in their wake to make sure Anders isn't with them first, but Kirkwall IS a mess in its own right so I suppose it's hard to say whether the apostate and his friend/partner/protector are hiding there until you've checked every nook and cranny.
If you need a break from investigating every nook and cranny that Kirkwall has to offer, you can always head over to Patreon for a breather. Or head over to redbubble, if you need a mug to remind yourself of your Kirkwall misadventures.
#love how this starts with “apparently”#as if letting anders live is so inconceivable op never did it
I mean...

Don't be ungrateful, Astarion. My Tav is a paladin, not a bard - he did his best.
There are better illustrations of Astarion over at Patreon. And better illustrations in general over at redbubble.
I was going to have Heinrix disapproving, on behalf of the Inquisition and all, but then I remembered that there is actually a third party that uh... doesn't really want to be there for your sexscapades with the drukhari. Sorry, Dave. Or whatever your name was. I don't suppose you're going to stop being so dead and change the sheets? They're a right mess.
Over at Patreon we take care to hide the bodies after our drukhari boyfriends have been over. Don't look under the rugs over at redbubble, ok?
"But will we be able to kiss Gortash [in the new update]?" we hear you plead. "We want to kiss Gortash!" Listen, he's a complicated guy who's busy contemplating the minutia of death cult office politics. Babygurl doesn't have time to kiss. Cool, Larian. Cool cool cool.
Over at Patreon and redbubble we, too, sulk at not being able to smooch our villain of choice.
In any other setting Astarion's pain of not remembering what he looks like would make sense. In DnD, where we have about twenty different ways to solve this issue, not so much...
Don't worry, Astarion, there are illustrations of you over at Patreon. I could be convinced to make something for redbubble too, I'm sure.
I just think it should be a crime to release games right around the start of November, ok? I'm Busy.
And no, NaNoWriMo collapsing under questionable leadership does not change the fact that November is my month of writing.
Over at Patreon we take the first week of November off, specifically to write a lot without distractions. Redbubble stays up all year round though.
The 2026 Dragon Age Census Survey
It's time!
The goal of this survey is to collect data on the demographics of and choices made by the Tumblr-based Dragon Age fandom. Everything is 100% anonymous, and all questions on the form are skippable - just keep in mind that the more questions you answer, the more accurate and thorough the data will be!
The form is split into the following sections:
Voter demographics and series-wide preferences - this asks things like your age range, gender, favourite game in the series, and which mainline and side-content installments you've played
Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: Origins
Choices specific to and your preferences within Draon Age II
Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: Inquisition
Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: The Veilguard
And a very optional bonus section where you're invited to share your more specific opinion on each individual main game and companion, along with a place to share any feedback on the blog and suggestions for future tournaments!
This form will remain open for a month - submissions will be accepted until July 7th, and results will be shared shortly after.

Easiest question of all time, thank you.
The state of Astarion's tent is only slightly exaggerated. This man thought no one would know he was a vampire, people. As if the only other option (sloppy serial killer) was a better explanation for it.
Over at Patreon and redbubble we make our vampires clean up their mess. Being undead doesn't equal being unhygienic.
Astarion's tent is a preview of how he's going to live domestically whenever he chooses to settle down. lol
Congratulations, you have made Astarion undateable.
I just don't understand why my team doesn't trust my judgement. When have I ever led them astr- hm, yes, well, when did we all die because of my optimistic approach to the enemies of humanity? Hm? Never? I thought so. So what's the worst that could happen if I adopt another space elf? Abelard, why are you crying?
Patreon and redbubble offer support for elf enthusiasts who have been blinded by the pointy ears and gotten in over their head.
