“please just don’t.” for D from Zel and “please kiss me.” from Nyxi to Cridhe
Cridhe stopped breathing, his face growing red as her fingers rested on his heart. She could probably feel his erratic heartbeat. Her hand was cold to the touch, they were seated on his couch, the room had grown quiet.
Just kiss her, that was all he had to do.
Cridhe could remember the look on Brianne’s face as she smiled at him and said, “I’m so glad we could catch up.”
Cridhe can now see Nyxi in front of him, her eyes bleary and swollen from crying. He then placed a hand over hers, perhaps it would hide his own trembling. She did not need this from him. Cridhe knew this. Even as his face neared Nyxi’s and his lips touched hers in a gentle comforting kiss, he knew that this would make everything worse for the both of them.
Even when his body relaxed beneath her grip and they began to toss their clothes to the side, in the back of his head he could hear the quiet sobbing of Bri the day he had left her.
God just what kind of monster was he?
D from Zel:Text from Ciara at 12am: Yo u meeting me at the Bermuda or what?
He wasn’t expecting Izel’s tail to cover his phone so suddenly. In fact, he looked up at Zel and narrowed his eyes, What was that for?
“Just don’t. She is not worth the trouble.”
This shit again. He places his phone on the table and quirks an eyebrow, “Did you have something else in mind?”
Izel slides next to him and blithely smiles, “More like you can just do so much better.” She trails a claw on his collar bone, “Why even bother giving her the time of day? It’s disgusting to watch.”
Demetrius shrugs and takes a moment to consider. She did have a point though, why did he put up with Ciara? Was there any point?
He sighs and picks up his phone again and goes to his contacts. He repeats the question in his head. Perhaps she had a point? As much as he despised to admit it the reminder of Ciara’s annoyances blared in his mind like sirens. What was the point of polishing gold if it would consistently tarnish itself? Especially when right beside him was something that glittered more brightly than anything he’d ever experienced before.
Demetrius presses the delete contact command on his phone and returns his attention to Izel, “You good?”
