This song is 1000% a pivotal highlight of our teen years. The video of Gary "The Numa Numa Guy" was one of the first EVER videos we saw on Newgrounds. & we can remember it perfectly! We were spending the night at our 1st girlfriend's house. She had free-range access to a computer that was connected to the internet (but of course, it was in The Computer Room lol), whereas our dad didn't let us have our own computer that connected to the internet until we were 16. A lot of times, we didn't even care that our girlfriend was there. We just wanted to be on the computer 😂

I was thinking about it (this song) & listening to it coming home from class & was sadly reminded that YT took down the OG Numa Numa Man video a couple years ago 🥲 that video was a shining beacon of hope that exemplified how wonderful the internet used to be. Like yeah, you can still watch it in other places, but that was THE ORIGINAL, man

I wish Newgrounds was still around, or at least had some type of archive of it where we could watch all the old videos and at least look at if not actually play the original flash games 😭 I miss that Newgrounds-style phase of internet so much. Modern internet is so deeply poisoned & has very little in the way of joy, exploration, & community.

But anyway, Narrator/Cornelius has been co-con or just hanging out up front with me for a week or so now & he's the one that's been building the late 90s/early 00s dance playlist we posted the other day. He's having a good time playing with songs & sharing the positive memories that come up while he's playing around (much like the one above!). Plus, the warm nostalgia I'm getting from him isn't coming with any terrifying trauma memories (for once!!!), which is very much welcome. Once in a blue moon, being a system is really nice, rather than feeling like eternal torment :')
