It was a rare occurrence that the Slytherin common room was nearly empty, but since most upperclassmen were at Hogsmeade and the younger ones were exploring the castle, Pansy thought she had the place all to herself.
She was lounging on the couches, reading Borage’s potions textbook when she decided to take a break and fish her CD-Walkman out of her bag. Pansy put on …Baby One More Time (Digital Deluxe Version) and stood up, starting to dance to the music. Her headphones were on and the Walkman was clipped to her skirt. She had her back turned away from the door as she was facing the windows, serenading the squid that swooshed past the dungeon. Pansy was too caught up in the music, swaying her hips and singing as if she were in a concert. She did a quick twirl and stopped mid-way when she noticed Blaise leaning against the doorway, his hand covering his mouth to stifle a laugh.
“Merlin, Blaise!” Pansy panicked as she tired to remove her headphones, causing the player to get dragged along with it and eventually fell to the floor. The CD compartment cracked open and exposed Britney’s photo on the CD. “Ugh, great, now I have to ask papai to owl me a new one.” She knows she could get it fixed in the mean time, but she would still rather have a brand new Walkman. “You know, you didn’t have to be such a creep and stare at me,” Pansy teased as she accio-d the items off the floor to examine them, attempting to hide the blush in her cheeks. She knows she dances and sings well enough, and it wasn’t a sight that was new to Blaise. It was the part where she was singing to the giant squid that caused her shame. “You could have asked to join, and I would’ve totally let you. Unless of course, you’re more of a Christina fan which I totally would’ve guessed.”
