need a really angsty project hail mary fic of the scene where the ship is failing and ryland cracks his face on the control panel

where medic!reader is trapped in another room, maybe like the lab and they're watching it all happen but because the ships malfunctioning, like the doors are emergency locked shut or something, they just can't get to ryland

and then they have to watch rocky put his life at risk to do the job they should be doing as the ships resident medic

just want to take dunks pretty face in my hands and smooth over the crease in his brow that appears when he cries. just want him to nuzzle into my palms and let me calm him by brushing my fingertips across his skin. just want to coo in his ear that everything is going to work out fine.
