3. Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection?
Zero doesn’t care and often tries to engage it, he isn’t afraid to touch X in a “romantic” way. (Rubbing his shoulders, holding onto his arms or hands.)
X on the other hand is scared at the thought of intimacy. While he loves Zero, he believes he has responsibility to the reploid community and his moral goal to bring harmony between human and reploids. A lot of the times he hides away from the painful question of “Are you and Zero together?” because as much as he wants to say Yes, he knows he has the duty to his kind, sadly he regrets this later in the future of Megaman Zero.
5. Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?
Zero to X: Big (sometimes adds Blue) Cheese (What X calls Ride Boarski), baby face, “Best Friend” (says it ironically when reporters are around)
X to Zero: Werewolf (big angry hairy), Rapunzel, angel eyes (X thinks Zero’s blue eyes make him look soft)
9. Do they discuss big issues? Religion? Marriage? Children? Death?
X brings these issues up all the time (mostly death and reploid laws), most of time giving himself anxiety and panic attack overloads. Zero hates it and tries to change the subject.
But once they did have a big conversation, in which Zero asked if they would ever going to get together. X almost couldn’t bring himself to answer the question but decided to hide his fear by gently joking, “maybe when you’re hair slims down I’ll think about it.” While Zero was frustrated by the answer he humored back, “well there goes that idea.”
As much as it was upsetting at the time they knew maybe one day they would be honest with each other.
