an affectation is placed on those three words, empty eyes sparking with interest after so, so long. it's laced with poison (careful, dear cath, for a beautiful thing can hide deadliness so easily), teeth ready to sink into her flesh. here she is, a devoted follower on her knees, asking a god to mold her into his image. he's brought her back to life— eternal devotion is the least she can ask of her.

two fingers reach from their fist to cup under cath's chin. all she wants is for her to look at him (that is, only look— never see). her touch is soft, like he's asking her to take communion. the image is tempting, of course, though ... perhaps that can come later. a smile presses to her mouth, faux comfort in its manner.

no okay but like i really do think sometimes about the concept of saviours and starbee. like. starscream is the chosen one starscream is the devil reincarnate starscream saves the universe and the common thread of all of those roles is that she doesnt know if she is but she knows that she can be, yknow? like starscream does not believe in being the chosen one starscream does not believe the dark cybertron prophecy but he CAN play the role and use it to his advantage.

whereas bumblebee is the opposite! hes chosen for important roles because of qualities he already displays - kindness, love, a willingness to give second chances, and yet he cant fill those roles because ze doesnt think he can. he is the cornerstone of so many redemption arcs, for thundercracker, for megatron, for starscream, and in that way he has that saviour-type imagery that autobot leaders tend to have going on

starscreams roles are flippant and changing because he stands for nothing, not really, whereas bumblebee is constantly forced into the same positions he doesnt even want because of hir principles, yknow?

and through their interactions they sort of swap roles a bit. bumblebee is forced to make decisions that compromise hir morals and starscream is forced to take a stand and believe in something, and BOTH of those moments lead directly to their respective deaths. thats SO interesting.
