Orphan Black 3.06

In which there are bisexual Castor clones and literally toxic masculinity, and Gracie is in danger from a  vector never before suspected.  Ouch.  Also, Sarah gets blowback for her tendency to use and abandon people at the worst possible moment for her.  Intent ain’t magic, Sarah.

Sarah knows how to run and manipulate, and now she can’t do either.  Helena, on the other hand, knows how to hide as well as run, and how to fight and kill as well as manipulate.  As this episode showed, she’s far more strategic in her thinking than Sarah, despite Sarah being the long con artist, and it paid off for her here. 

Basically, Helena remains amazing in so many ways (brutal and terrifying, yes, but also amazing).  Institutionalised no.  Survivor yes.  Everybody keeps underestimating her, even people who should know better.

Felix’s increasing degree of fed-up-ness is fascinating me.  He’s running out of reserves for taking care of people, and when it comes to Gracie the field in which he grows his fucks is entirely barren.  Miss Gracie has hidden depths, though (or would that be hidden shallows?)...and, well, so does Mrs S, but we knew that.  I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that she was the one who put those garden shears in John Sadler’s through, though - one way or another.  So is she paying it forward, or is she, as Gracie suspected, doing penance?  Or both?

I don’t know who’s taking photo of Shay on her date, but at least it means there’s something interesting and plot-relevant happening around her, even if we don’t yet know what.  

Speaking of which, has there ever been a character as consistently uninteresting and unuseful as Paul?  Stop trying to make Paul happen, Orphan Black.  Paul’s never going to happen.  Make some inroads into Miller instead.  He’s got potential.  Oh, and more Art.  Art has chemistry with everybody and Paul with nobody, so, y’know...more Art.

More invasive medical procedures this episode.  It’s definitely a season thing.

Notice that the Castor clones were a minimal presence this episode?  Yep.  Balance is tipping back.  I suspect they’ve done the majority of what they were here to do.

I have found the most painful scene to watch : the one where two actresses are so talented and have great chemistry and their characters are so adorable, well basically what would lead to me love that scene, YET IT IS SO PAINFUL TO WATCH BECAUSE YOU CAN'T BRING YOUR HEART TO LIKE IT
