The vibes I get from them are either "I don't agree with your objectives nor I like you, but still, I gotta respect the grind" or "You know what you've convinced me, lemme join your cult" xD (PS: I'd sell a kidney for a couple of those muppets)

Okay so, that specific Yuu is called Seita, and he's my friend's Yuu, so he has a bit of a personality compared to the one in the ob!Ace one shot. I imagined it as them playing 4d chess, as Ace is saying "Well, shit is going down, wouldn't it be fun to stop being nice?"
And the Yuu is like "Well, wouldn't you just love for me to do that" lol
So your first thought is the most correct, me thinks!
