Only once I have to get this off my chest. I'm just really really thankful for Cosima Niehaus' existence. First of all, I love science and art and history. Or actually knowledge and learning in general. And honestly, it felt so good to finally see this trait in a female character who isn't mocked or who isn't always the butt of the joke. I love that she's geeky in general, too. Which makes her a person with three major aspects which are usually mocked in girls throughout the media - she's a nerd, she loves studying and she's wearing glasses. And as you might know, there are a lot of movies containing supposedly "ugly" women with curly hair, glasses and no fashion sense who get a makeover (means they remove their glasses, straighten their hair and wear faoshonable clothes) and are suddenly viewed as amazingly beautiful. But she's even more awesome than that. I also love that she's a lesbian (which is also not that common yet), giving me something more to relate to. Additionally, she doesn't die! (It's sad that I even need to add this) I just love everything about her. I love that she's a smart, capable women who's proudly and openly gay. I love how she's good at science, how she's nerdy and even beats Scott and his friends at their tabletop game and is still portrayed as attractive. I love how she's a kind and loving person, how she doesn't give up even though her path is hard. She's often in bad places but she manages to stay (mostly) optimistic which shows how strong she is. I love how she's a person who talks and smiles a lot. A person who somehow manages to be liked by almost everyone because she's just very warm, kind and caring. I'm just so thankful that the show decided to portray her like this. She's an amazing and threedimensional character and there's hardly anyone else like her in the media. Tatiana Maslany is doing an AMAZING job with portraying all the clones, but it feels like there is just something real and true about Cosima (at least it's like that for me), which makes her especially remarkable.
