Bringing back an old au for this one!

Jon had listened to Lando talk about the way Daniel looked in pastel colors and how his curls looked ‘springy and soft’, but when trying to get Lando to admit he had a crush on Daniel was like trying to get a cat to take a bath.

Put an assumption in my ask. I’ll confirm or dispute it. I’m not gonna be mean or anything, I’m just very interested.

Lando and Dan drunkenly get married in Vegas, maybe with the oblivious au. They're "just friends" and are out with some people like Michael, Max and Charles and come across some chapels on their way to another bar. Max talked them into it and they thought why not it'll be hilarious.

When they wake up the next morning, cuddled together nothing feels off at first because cuddling is normal. Lando has a headache from all the drinks and searches for something to drink when he noticed the ring on his finger. He tries not to freak out but bumps into a shelf and wakes Daniel. Dan sees Lando frantically pacing through the room and asks him what happened. Lando stops and looks at Dan, tears building up in his eyes. He held up his hand to show the ring. Daniel obviously has the same one.

Lando feels so sad because deep down he really wants this but is so sure Dan doesn't and he doesn't want to tie Dan to himself when he could have some other person (omega if we go abo).

Daniel cradles him in his arms and they have a long anxiety ridden talk where they finally lay all their feelings bare (is that how you say that?) and kiss for the first time.

That's how the others find them, intertwined into each other on the hotel room floor, sharing small kisses. They leave them alone because the two hadn't noticed them, to wrapped up in their little bubble.

I love this! I'm actually so hyped right now some guy gave me a weird look in the airport but anyway!

Them heading out in Vegas for a few days with some friends because Daniel says they need to unwind. Lando normally doesn't party but he's sharing a room with Daniel and feels he needs a bit of liquid courage to keep him going so let's Max and Charles talk him into drinking and that somehow turns into him and Daniel flirting and ending up married

Neither of them remember it in the morning or that they had confessed to each other before deciding to get married but they did. They confessed everything they couldn't while sober and made that leap

When he wakes up, Lando feels as if he's ruined everything. Ruined their friendship, Daniels life, their careers but Daniel is so sweet qnd reassuring. Telking him they can get it annulled if Lando wants and that breaks Landos heart even more and Daniel can see that

Lando just feels so heartbroken by the idea of annulment that Daniel has to wrap him in a hug and ask him what he wants and it's then that Land breaks and whispers 'you, it's always been you' and then Daniel is crying because he can't believe this beautiful man wants him qnd they spent so much time afraid of this when its perfect

They know their parents will kill them but they decide not annul it when they've talked everything over because even though it was a leap, it also feels like they're exactly where they should

Especially when Daniel shakily asks if he can kiss his husband and Lando says yes faster than he can ask the question qnd they're kissing and holding each other and laughing

Max and Charles pop their heads in at some point after finding the video of the wedding on their phones and find the two of them curled together, sharing soft kisses and whispers and decide showing them the videos can wait

Oblivious au (is that a thing now?) dando would also be into each other but dumb enough to think the other isn’t into them because they’re too good for them and all that jazz

Yes it has become a thing! I'm seriously tempted to write a five plus one type thing for them 👀

They would! They'd both have convinced themselves that the other would never fall for them. That they're better off with other people.

Daniel would convince himself that Lando should be with someone his own age and they should remain friends

Lando would be convinced that he's too awkward and shy for Daniel. That he's too plain looking and weird, that Daniel deserves someone beautiful and as outgoing as him

Neither of them realises that the other has already fallen for them

Dando filming that thing with James Corden and Daniel being endeared with Lando during the food thing has me weak - it fits so well with the oblivious idiots that are dating but not knowing they are dating and you just want to shake them by the shoulders for them to get it together

It does!!!

It's perfect with the not knowing they're dating au. They just look and act like two idiots madly in love throughout the whole thing. Constantly almost touching, the way they look at each other, they way they joke

Everyone can see it but the two of them who are just so oblivious to the fact they're in love and dating

Now I need to know how Dando would cuddle and actually date without them realizing that’s what they’re doing and then they get together and kiss and stuff and are like ‘damn we could’ve been doing this all along’ 👉🏼🥺👈🏼

They're such idiots that they would literally act like a couple without realising it!

These two would have movie nights and think nothing of the fact that Lando ends up under Daniel's arm, tucked into his side with their legs tangled together.

They constantly touch hands when in meetings or filming videos for McLaren. Lando wanders around the MTC wearing Daniels jumpers because 'I got cold' anf it makes Daniel all smiley and smug when he does.

They're always sending each memes during meetings and sharing looks. They've inside jokes, and often take one car to work. Dan stays with Lando a lot before Lando moves to monaco (which everyone thinks they've moved in together)

They even go out to eat just the two of them and never question why they're always given the romantic tables

When it's pointed out to them, and they shyly kiss for the first time, they both start laughing because they realise they could have been doing this the whole time and how do they tell people they haven't been dating for all this time
