Averting your gaze, your mouth is clamped shut at the question. There's no mistaking the sharpness in his tone even with the nickname and all.
The water lightly sploshes and you give a small shake of your head, "It's nothing."
A scoff falls off his soft pink lips, and you only realize the sound is not directed to you when he makes his way from across the hot tub. His eyebrows furrow. He hates wrinkles..
"You mean to tell me some demons forcing you to do their homeworks are nothing?"
He takes his place beside you now, eyes staring intently on your face. "It's no wonder you haven't been getting enough sleep," he comments with a hand tentatively reaching out. When you don't move away, he places it on your cheek, thumb rubbing the skin under your eye.
Only then you turn to his face, quietly watching as something flickers in his beautiful light orange orbs. His next words are in a hushed whisper. A promise even.
