Perhaps I’m just a hater but the new starters look like early game catches instead of starters. What is with that

First things first. They're cute pokes. That's obvious and I'm not saying they're not bc they're objectively cute little guys but where is their sauce. Where is their flavor. My starters aren't starting

It's not really unusual for a starter to only use 3 colors in their palette but it is interesting that this is the first time all 3 starters have a 3 color limit BUT the biggest issue I have with their designs is that they're just very round and flat with gecqua being the most starter looking one of the bunch since it's design is actually a smidge more complex than the other 2

I wanted to wait to do any redesigns til I see the other evos but this has been annoying me all day so

It's 3 am and I am very tired so all I did was break up the designs and utilize their colors more

Browt - just used the same green on the wings and lil tuft on top but honestly even just doing the wings would have been fine

Pombon - has had the most work done which is bringing the lil bit of color on the chest down a bit and using the same red fur detail on the tail

Fr cute doggy but why is my fire type not firey. Where's the fire. Who put the dog out

Gecqua - wasn't really necessary but I added the same pink in the eyes to the belly but honestly either one kinda works

sometimes i wonder if we have forgotten that sharing creative work is, fundamentally, a bid for human connection. like I'm not posting art or fic for 'engagement' i'm posting it looking for other sickos to play with! i'd be making it anyway for my own gratification because there's something wrong with me, i'm sharing it hoping we can have something wrong with us together <3

Hi tysm!! You’re not being rude at all! I had actually meant to make a post abt this around a week ago but it totally slipped my mind oops 😬

Unfortunately I won’t be doing the Halloween event this year 💔 given the lack of activity and how many times I’ve had to change the rules and go back on restrictions (ie the rule of Halloween/horror characters only being extended to X character as X monster or smn along those lines) for people to actually send asks in is well. Depressing to say the least 💀

Don’t get me wrong I’ve loved all the requests that I’ve gotten over the years!! I started doing this event for funsies and to help me improve my art but also I can’t really have an event if no one is reblogging or sharing the event post so…. Damn

As for lack of posting in general I’ve had a super long art block that I’ve been fighting with and slowly working my way out of with my more traditional paintings BUT I’m hoping I can actually start making things I’m happy with so I can at least post something on here occasionally 😭

So tldr: event unfortunately canceled due to lack of activity and a very stressful home life

Hopefully next year will have much better circumstances but for now I’m sorry and I hope you have a wonderful October!!
