NOVEMBER 1ST, 1924

“ NO-MAJS AND WIZARDS IN PANIC AT QUARTER FESTIVAL ”

it was the title of the newest edition of the daily bayou ––– the local wizard newspaper in new orleans. it depicted the report of the terror that occurred the night of the fall festival, the burning of the buildings, the chaos after the exploding streetlights. but, it would be the first time they would fear for their lives, or at least think of the event as a bigger scheme, for twenty children, of no-maj and wizarding families, went missing amidst the chaos and now everyone wonders if the accident hid another truth beneath. some are led to believe that it was, the families of the missing children desperately beg for answers but mystery abounds as to who the culprit is. for now, M.A.C.U.S.A. has ordered more security to the area, while on-going investigations on the case are done. they have ordered the population not to panic, to stay alert and to report any suspicious activity. 

that marks the end of our first event and plot drop, we hope everyone enjoyed it. for now, please make sure to incorporate the on-going drop for further development. there’s definitely more to new orleans than meets the eye. threads for the event are encouraged to be wrapped up as of now and new starters are to be posted.

          “ it was unexpected, chaotic, and so hell

         crept its way into the streets, uninvited. ”

the festive night did not seem to slow down, even as midnight approached. the jazz music echoed against the historical buildings, bringing life to an apparent cursed city. the epitome of life crowded the streets, that was, of course, until it was not.

a loud boom resonated, and for a moment, everything came to a halt.

pitch dark, the streets became as fragments of glass and the stench of gas filled the streets. the explosion, brought forth a series of screams, for it came to be unexpected. all music was halted, many trying to comprehend what had just occurred. but to see anything was impossible, only darkness crept the streets. the tumult of people began panicking, for a nearby structure began to catch on fire. children cried, many calling out for their mothers and the murmurs of the crowd began to increase, as other buildings began too, to burn up in flames.

the fall festivities have been interrupted by several explosions of streetlight lamps, affecting in the way nearby wooden buildings. as many scramble to help, some others try to flee the scene. this marks our first plot drop of obscurumhq. this is very much still part of the event, and will last until friday the 16th. pre-plot drop threads may be written to incorporate the plot drop, or wrapped up as new threads are written. enjoy!
