"Link? I know I kind 'a deserted you for a while an' all, but do you remembah when I told you about the idea 'a givin' up major crime fa good?" She paused nervously. The harlequin had bruises and cuts fresh across her body as she looked at him, eyes dull, as though shehad given up, and yet filled with the light of opportunity. "That day has come, an' I hope I 'aven't been away so long that ya don't want ta be round lil ol' me or anythin'." Such brave words for one in such pain.
"Harley!" He wasn't sure why he thought she couldn't get hurt. Something in his mind had clicked the first time they'd met, and for some reason he'd associated it with a sort of invincibility. But, despite what he'd assumed, she was human. Harley could gte hurt in all the ways it counted, and that meant getting scars for her actions.
All for doing something he lived by, taking the choice to do good and running with it, but he had never been punished for it like this. "Who did this?"
