Movie Review: Obsession

This story is a Horror/Romance about Bear and how his crush on a girl named Nikki made him make a wish that, by the end, he wishes he never made. Yes,it'ss one of those movies.
Now I think we've all seen when a wish goes bad, but in this movie, Bear makes a wish, and even though he knows it's bad, he continues with it,t and along the way, he acts like he's the victim and that something is wrong with Nikki.
He wished that she loved him more than anyone else in the world, which, in the terms of a Horror movie, is Obsession, hence the title. Be careful what you wish for.
Honestly, I didn't think that the wish was going to kick in so quickly, but, you know what, it ruffles my feathers. The fact that right before he made the wish, Nikki asked him if he had feelings for her. Plain as day asked, and anyone would know that the way she asked, she was basically saying ‘please say no, but if you say yes, I'm going to tell you the truth’. BOOM. A wish is made, and her will is taken away from her.
Nikki snaps back to reality four times in the movie. The first time is almost immediately after the wish, when she sees her reflection in the car mirror; the second time is when she is kissing Bear in bed; the third time is when she's at the party; and the fourth time is after Bear, and she and he are sitting on the couch, and he runs to the bathroom. If you notice, is Nikkis voice screaming “F*uck you Bear” and then Freaky Nikki takes over. A time when she's not snapping back but takes advantage of a moment to speak is when she speaks directly to Bear and asks, “Kill me,” and his response, knowing she's in pain, is, “What's so bad about being with me?” Like, who does that?
Freaky Nikki does some pretty crazy things like:
Setting up a memorial for Sandy “the cat” (Even though she just wanted to do something nice for him to make him feel better)
Cooking the cat (I have no words)
Taping the door shut (Again, no words, but she loves the man, so understandable, she doesn't want him to leave)
Waiting in place for the bear to come home (Crazy to stand in the same place but, okay.
Even with those things happening, she did some justifiable things as well:
Moving Sarah’s chair at the party (As crazy as she looked, tell me you wouldn't do the same. Bear got a dare to kiss the person to his left, and it was Sarah, hell yeah I'm moving your chair too.)
Killing Sarah (I would do the same. What do you mean you’re sneaking out at 3:00 am and going to see a girl alone in her car? Like what, and I know you like my man, please, you asked for it, and so did he. That's why she told him, “You did this, you wished for this.” Did she lie…. NO.)
The moral of the story is that Bear is a bad guy. Instead of having the balls to tell a girl he liked her and possibly get rejected, he made a wish to have her love him more than anything. Now, in the end, he did the right thing by killing himself to end the wish, but he did it for the wrong reasons. Bear clearly couldn't take it and wanted to end it so he wouldn't deal with it anymore, even though it was his fault. This is obvious when he leaves everything that happened out in the open so that when she wakes up, she sees it all.
The saddest part of all is that when Bear takes the pills, and then he tries to throw them up because he realised he can't leave her, you can hear a snap. Which means that Nikki made a wish, and that wish was that Bear would love her more than anything as well. Which sucks because he made that wish for her and didn't really love her enough. Sadly, it was too late for Nikki because she never threw up the pills and died. Nikki wakes back up and sees the horror that happened that was out of her control and just cries, “It wasn't me”
Be careful what you wish for, take responsibility, don't play the victim. Don't make someone Obsessed.
