It watched from it’s corner as eyes stared in at it from the glass wall. The cell was large but empty, nothing but a small bed and a feeding trough to keep it company. Not much time was spent in the room which was probably why it was kept empty but the time spent outside the room was the worst. That’s when the experiments were done, when there were needles being stuck in it’s flesh and electrodes stuck to it’s head.
Among the faces of the science team was one familiar face. They were there often and never shared the same cold indifference the others held. As the scientists finally began to leave they left the informant alone with the beast, nothing but glass to separate them. Slowly it rose to it’s feet and approached the glass.
The creature’s tail dragged along the floor, it's eyes red and the lids puffy. It wasn't even an adult, not from how the scientists were describing it. Its last recorded measurement put it at 4 feet 2 inches, and that was from earlier in the week. When it spoke it's voice was an echo of many voices speaking at once, all a choir of pain and confusion.
“Why?”

Not unless Gabe has anything to say about it.
She’s all hugged onto them. Maybe they would protect her from her father.

“Do it, break my neck.” (Gabe no.)
He grabs Gabe by the scruff of the neck and presses a kiss to their cheek. “Nice try.”

Leaf spat.
And she tasted iron as she brought her bloodied fist to her mouth. Her knuckles were ripped open, raw, and all she had to show for it was the handful of bruises on her attackers’ cheeks. An exchange rate so cheap it must’ve been a scam. Bulbasaur could go to hell for starting this fight she couldn’t win -- He was too weak for this. She was going to be a statistic for a fucking plant.
Leaf growled, the feral noise of a terrified little girl on her last legs, as her back struck the alleyway wall. She gasped for breath, ribs burning but the adrenaline alone kept her standing. Her eyes darted between the two Team Rocket Grunts. A car passed by on the street but didn’t slow. Celadon was like any city, it didn’t give two shits about her. Who cared if her legs trembled, and her heart thudded against her chest like a caged Pidgey? No one was coming for her.
A grunt moved in on her, she raised her hand to her ear and his hook caught on her elbow. She returned by driving her knee into his groin and she screamed as her fist made impact with his jaw. The grunt fell back against the wall but his friend moved into place him. A fist was drove into her gut and the air was shoved out of her. He grabbed her the front of her shirt as she gagged and back handed her across the jaw.
She was grabbed her by the throat and slammed against the wall, her head whipped back against the brick. It jarred her and she went limp. Her purse was ripped off her arm and tossed back to the partner . Her vision tunneled and her ears rang, everything closing in on the pressure around her throat. Her own pitched breaths. Faded, unprocessed words.
Leaf choked, fingers scrabbling at the hand holding her, finding only tiny gasps of air to catch. The color pulled from her face. “Go. To. Hell.”

He turns and gives them a little smile before sticking his tongue out at them. He points to a plate that almost had all the food on it.
