I’m currently re-reading The Illuminae Files series & I think it’s hilarious that even though it’s so far in the future that the kids no longer know what a book is, they’re all still making Wheel of Fortune jokes. Glad to know that masterpiece of a game show stood the test of time into the intergalactic future.

Isaac Grant is, like, actually the best person in the Illuminae files. His whole family's probably dead? Well he's gonna defend the families on Heimdall even when he's bleeding out. Goes out of his way to help and comfort Ella when the rest of the Mao aren't even treating her like a person. A bunch of kids on the ship have lost their family? Guess he has 4 more kids now. He's leaving them personal messages of support and telling them he's proud of them!?! Underrated character for sure, he's the best.

the best example of aiden being a living paradox is in book one where it literally negotiates kady staying on the alexander in exchange for the 1000 people who were still unaffected by phobos, and it's part of the reason that it's such a fascinating character to look at
