Reading the empire of the vampire series ..on book 3 in 4 days. Not finished yet but I have an inkling where this is going and it’s giving tragically bittersweet

Kestrel Voss is the last of the Princes of Forever - the last child of Fabién Voss and now Priori of Blood Voss. She dances a careful waltz of power and politics with an old rival, now a potential ally in this den of wolves. The Iron Maiden wakes as dusk falls on the night that Gabriel de León - last silversaint and murderer of the Forever King - awaits his final judgement.

While it initially features a sort of relationship between Kestrel and Kariim, this is not a shipping fic.

(I have never written shipping or true intimacy between two characters before, so please bear with me on the first chapter 🙈)

My personal rules for a fantasy or fictional landscape book

No first person, it feels like I’m reading their journal entries… exception is if it’s written like I’m supposed to read their journal.

Include a map that I can flip back to for reference when characters go traveling. Added bonus if there are family/faction crests and mottos

Actually label your product romantasy, because sometimes I just want a high fantasy geopolitical thriller with elves, werefolk and lore without the morally grey characters having a love triangle
