I’m about a fourth of the way into Obsession, and so far my only critique is that— you guys know we miss out on the story if we can’t see anything, right?
Like, I KNOW it’s a horror movie. But everything is so dark while important things are happening that I’m looking like at my TV like this trying to catch what the hell is going on.
It could be that I’m watching in the Daytime, but I had to close every window in my house just to barely see any more than a black screen. Maybe that’s an intended thing? I dunno. I just wish filmmakers would prioritize more clarity with lighting. You can still have a dark room where important subjects are visible 💀
Anyways— the rest of the movie’s really solid so far. I like the writing, I like the setup… the dialogue has a slight Vivsiepop effect where they cuss a lot to show they are “adults”, but it makes the dialogue feel less genuine… idk. I’ve got a sailor’s mouth too, but having some economy with it makes everything way more watchable.
