Moon Cycle Dispute
@obsxjiho
He was starving- so what! It’s a full moon and he has been waiting and waiting for this so that he can finally sate that gnawing pressure he’s had in his head. He’s just hungry. He hates being hungry. He hates himself, but that shouldn’t matter when he doesn’t even feel like himself in the first place. He doesn’t feel like anything. The man who made the stupid decision to attack him on this particular night isn’t a man anymore. He’s just shapes. The buildings are blurs- the sky black and Lu isn’t Lu because he feels like he’s somewhere else.
He never touched the man in front of him. He never bit him or clawed- this death isn’t his fault yet. In his own mind he’s so far away from this that he can deal with it- deal with the hunger and the way his body stings. He doesn’t hate the taste of iron and he doesn’t despise the way his hands feel when they dig into skin. It isn’t until he’s full and done that he finds himself slowly coming back to his body. He’s still in that form. Still a mass of black fur with antlers and gaunt features. As long as he’s this way he can’t fully bring himself back. He can’t recognize this monster as himself.
He refuses.
But he does flinch a little at the state of the man- the corpse. He stands tall- towering over the blurs and colors below him. Even in the dark he sees the world perfectly, but his mind is connected back. Everything isn’t real. He isn’t real yet. He doesn’t want to be. Sometimes he thinks it would be better to be this way forever. If it didn’t terrify him so much he probably would just let it consume him. This disconnect- this emptiness. But he can’t stand the idea of ceasing to exist.
So he refuses to let himself do that. Even as the monster he tries to hang on to some idea of what he is- who he is... He tries to remain somewhat aware.
And right now he’s aware of the were.
Empty sockets glow red and he looks over- true form towering over the stranger who smells all wrong. His mind hold back enough to keep him from lashing out, but instead he just... growls.
