The past few days had been crazy ones, Hoseok voluntarily taking some time off from work and school alike to help make the newest addition to the home Taehyung and he shared. He had been looking forward to this for months, the male ecstatic over getting the small shetlie who currently laid comfortably in his lap. She was much smaller than he expected, though she was perfect in every way. 

“Yuja~”

He says cutely, scratching behind her ears as the pair waited for Taehyung to return from the department store. It took little to no convincing at all when bringing up them adopting a pet, though it took some time to even decide on what to get. Hoseok loved all animals as much as humanly possible, though he always found himself drawn to dogs. Being part canine did play a small role in that, but he felt more connected towards dogs on a spiritual level. Growing up, his father never allowed pets, not even a fish which Hoseok pleaded for due to his desperate want for a fur-ever friend. Though, stern parents were as stern as ever, and denied him before he even had a chance to ask. The closest he had ever gotten to owning a pet was dog sitting on occasions, but that all changed two days ago. 

Yuja’s ears flicker she she slowly starts to fall asleep, Hoseok smiling warmly as he watches. Perhaps he and Yuja should have tagged along, it would’ve been a good bonding experience for the trio. He would make sure to bring it up to Taehyung upon his return, the male anticipating his roommate’s arrival. As soon as he heard a familiar jingle of keys, Hoseok sits upright, bringing Yujacha out of her short nap, causing her to hop off the fox’s lap and go straight for the door. She yaps excitedly, as if she already knew who it could be.

“Tae-ah! You missed it! She fell asleep..on my lap!”

wren push comes to shove

The raven had a very uneventful start to his day, finding people to mess with seemed to be impossible.The streets nearing his apartment were surprisingly barren today, though Jooheon didn’t care to pursue why they would be so empty on a day like today. He decides to shrug it off, and hopes to make up for lost time later, and even get one of his friends in on the fun.

Jooheon really had to hold himself back when it came to pulling pranks with the fae he befriended not too long ago. The male in particular was a newcomer in the art of practical jokes, and though he did find the tricksters antics amusing, when it came to partaking in them he seemed disinterested in the hardcore ones Jooheon had planned. He honestly didn’t mind toning things down anyway, nor did he want to push his friend out of their comfort zone. He conjures up a list of pranks he feels that Taehyung would be more comfortable with, hoping that maybe the pair would be able to pull a few later in the evening. 

He nearly forgets that they were supposed to meet up at a restaurant not too far from his apartment, the raven distracted by the excitement of being able to pull a few tricks. Not that he’d admit to his excitement, but hanging around with Taehyung did put him in a good mood.

He shoots Tae a quick text in apology for his tardiness, running as fast as he can down the five blocks that separated him between his fellow fae. It was definitely a sight, the male making a mental note to get back into the routine of morning jogs. He was left nearly breathless coming up on the third block, eventually having to stop for a couple minutes to catch his breath. He eased himself back into a running pace, eventually coming upon the place he agreed to meet Taehyung fifteen minutes ago. His forehead beaded with sweat, and still noticeably out of breath, he slowly walked inside the establishment, seeking out other fae immediately. 

He soon spots his friend, quickly taking the seat across from him. He flahses the other male a quick smile, clearing his throat before greeting.

“Bro! Real sorry about being late. I uh.. got caught up with something.”

He laughs nervously towards the end, hoping to make it up to Taehyung by offering to pay for his meal. The raven did come across a small fortune the other day, so he might as well put it towards a good cause.

Lodged between two large cushions on his leather couch, Himchan indolently sifted through a hashtag on social media, liking a few posts that stood out to him. Most such photos were that of steak, making his mouth water and his stomach gurgle with the anticipation of sinking his teeth into it. Ever since he had been turned into a werewolf, meat just appeared to grow more and more appetizing than it had ever been prior. He had always been a fan of meats, but it felt like his craving for it only skyrocketed after his first lunatic phase. Luckily for him, he had a reason for observing the steak, other than to torture himself.

A knock (the reason!) on the front door of his condo tore Himchan’s attention from his phone, and he promptly slipped it into his pants’ pocket, rising to answer his guest. With a few strides, he was over to the door, opening it and greeting Taehyung with a grin. “Taehyung! Glad the MVP of the day could make it.” He gestured for him to enter, even though the stay would be brief before they would have to leave. “Do you want a glass of water before we go? I know it must be pretty warm outside.” Himchan glanced towards his car keys, swiping them along with his wallet and stored them in his pockets.

cracking open a cold one

RETURN ↺ UNI 2ND YEAR

it starts off innocently enough.

one fae to another, a simple question asked in the hopes of a simple answer. after all, exams were over and the hours of tolling over books and papers were no longer to exist (for the duration of the eternal bliss that was the summer break, anyways.) gone was his back, similar to the hunchback of notre dame spending so long crouched over notes, and gone was the stress that burdened both his and his roommates’ shoulders.

ten thinks that tae’s hilarious when he complains about coursework, with that same tired crease between his eyebrows and a look of giving up flying across his expressions. he doesn’t say anything though, in fear of inciting some sort of dangerous (read: tae appeared to have a mind blowingly amazing reflex time when it came to smacking somebody as a way of calling them out on their “shit”) response.

his head is in his hand, and he’s sprawled over the couch in some space-hogging way, letting out a yawn that escapes from parted lips. it’s at that moment, when they’re the only two in the apartment, that he asks the question. 

“tae,” ten begins sweetly, an eyebrow quirked. “would you like a drink?”

“You like him.”

From the first time Taehyung told him about the brooding dragon-blood; Jimin was sure and he told him as much. The comment was mostly in jest, Jimin taking advantage of an opportunity to tease his dear friend, but each time the fae brought up Seo Yonggeum...Jimin was surer and surer.

Their game plan for the day further solidified Jimin’s belief, whether Taehyung wanted to admit it or not. Still, he didn’t point it out. Despite how close they are, there was a lot left unsaid between them. Most of the time Jimin was patient and let the bright little fae believe he was cleverer than his intuitive friend.

“Now, listen...I borrowed this from one of the hyungs at work so, please...try not to fry it,” Jimin pleaded as he hesitantly handed over the gaming controller to his tech-incompatible friend. “You’re going pretty far to impress this guy,” Jimin bated, lifting his eyebrows in emphasis.

Deep Sentence Starters: Still Accepting!

His eyes snap wide at those words- pen dropping from his hand and hitting the table with a clicking sound. For the moment, he’s stuck this way- quiet without a smile. He looks at his notebook- at the pen on the table. His hands are shaking. His mind reels over the possibility without a moments consideration toward anything else. He picks the pen back up- fingers fumbling with it for just a moment. The notebook is placed on the table with as little noise as possible. It’s deafeningly quiet.

He moves a hand softly- just to pull on the scarf he’s got wrapped around his neck so tightly. He’s still staring down at the table- smile not yet back on his face. He twirls the pen. It’s green. Writes green. He thinks it has a lot of character, which has made him use it a lot more recently. He thinks it adds to the voice he tries to create on the paper. He’s worked hard to perfect that, after all. He wants everyone to see that his handwriting, the colors, the phrasing, everything... That’s his ‘voice’. That’s how he wants to sound and how he wants to be heard. It’s carefully chosen for him. It’s a part of him.

But his voice looks wrong as he starts to write a response. The smile is creeping back onto his face- but it looks awkward with his nervous eyes. Most people don’t smile so often when they are afraid, but to Gohn it’s only normal. He finishes the first sentence and already he hates it. He hates the way it looks- lines shaking along with his hands, but... He has no choice. He clenches his fist in his lap- other hand holding the pen with white knuckles. He looks up weakly- smiling still. His eyes meet the other fae’s and he tries his hardest to smile just a bit more.

This guy is... a light. He’s a light that Gohn met through some luck- much like he’s met many other fae. Gohn is... comfortable with him because of this. Comfortable with having met a fae- or maybe just comfortable because he is a fae. Gohn considers them friends, but he’s never considered this possibility before. That he, just by being this way, could make Tae... Uncomfortable. He looks down again to finish what he was writing- trying to control the different strokes a bit better. 

Once he’s done he slides it across the table with a turn. He hopes Tae can read it, even if it isn’t as neat as his usual writing. He sets the pen on the table and moves his hand into his lap to join the other. His smile remains nervous- his hands are gripping each other far too tightly. The book reads simply:

“I’m sorry... It’s because I can’t talk, isn’t it?”

“ will you help me out or not?”

by now, ten’s just kind of accepted the fact (more like he’s basically been forced to in the unforgivably stern about photography and confident presence of the other) that tae isn’t exactly the least energetic or most normal fae that he’s come across. it’s probably one of the things that make him so endearing to other’s eyes, actually, but all he can do is just wince and hope his grimace can be easily mistaken for a smile.

“tae, you know i love helping people.” he begins his apparently self proclaimed speech, fiddling with his shirt and praying that he isn’t coming across as nervous like he is. ten’s never actually been good at saying things straight away though he desperately wants to and so he’s left in awkward situations like these.

“but i don’t think i can pose naked for you.like, really. i’m flattered and all buㅡ..wait, did you say you’d buy me bibimbap after?”

If there was anyone who was earnest; it was Sunggyu. He always tried his best to make things easier for Supernaturals and Humans alike - so to have this young man speak to him so curtly, so accusing, only caused Sunggyu’s brow to frown in confusion.
