There is that. The next time I plan a prank, I’ll let you know so you can decide if you’d like to see it play or not. I’ll have to think of my best one yet, if that’s the case. 

The food arrived and Satan was eager to try the soup that Aami had suggested. He eyed their curry, careful when he grabbed his bowl to pull it close to him, as if even brushing the plate would case his soup to spice up just by proximity. 

That sounds like an interesting plot, and one I’ll have to look up on later. I’m also a fan of novels, though serials are ones I tend to gravitate to. Once I find an author I enjoy the writing of, it’s difficult to branch out and knowing there’s several works in their collection keeps me busy while I look for more to read.

Satan didn’t say anything as Aami moved closer, instead getting a firmer grip on their arm as they walked. He hadn’t been on this side of the Devildom in some time, and while it was as nice a place as a demon’s domain could get he still didn’t wish for Aami or himself to get lost in its streets. 

I think everyone has a small stomach compared to him. Fortunately, since I’m sure no business could handle two bottomless pits let alone anyone’s wallets. 

He let them guide him down the street to where they wanted to eat, unfamiliar with the cafe Aami mentioned but pleased that it was both nearby and, if they were correct, overlooked. A quiet and simple cafe sounded like the perfect thing after the packed theater, loud music, and resounding applause. 

Do you have anything you recommend from there? I don’t believe I’ve been to a cafe here before.

The next and final act was well deserved for its place. Aami was more captivating than before, the music more attention grabbing and the motions that followed each lyric more dramatic than ever. There was a standing ovation as the song faded and the theater, for the last time, went dark before the house lights came on and the crowd erupted. 

Satan was one of the first on his feet, clapping only as long as necessary before weaving his way through the crowd towards the front to find Aami.

*What to do.... what to do... Aami frowns. Who would be the best to ask? Lucifer was busy... Asmo would suggest something too lewd... Belphie and Mammon wouldn't care.... maybe Satan. Yeah, that's it. At his door, they knock.* S-Satan? Could I c-come in? -askaami

Satan’s brow twitched at the knock on his door, and the annoyed furrow evened out at the sound a faintly familiar voice. He rose to open the door for her and stepped aside, gesturing her in. 

What can I do for you?

Belphegor? Innocent looking? That’s one way to put it.

He folds his arm, humming again as he thinks

Spells that spread by touch. That’s a hard thing to do, but not impossible. It’s simply easier to imbue a spell on a nonliving object. I have tried once or twice - that human joke of theirs, where they hide a small object in their palms to shock someone whenever they shake hands? I did try that once. I shocked myself just as many times as I shocked another.

*It was finally the night. Aami exhales, playing with the end of their braid which had been woven and re-woven several times in anxiety. What did they have to be anxious about? They'd performed so many times... their dance costume drifts around their legs. Aami can't help but peek out the edge of the curtain-- they'd slipped Satan the invitation to the RAD Dance Club's Biannual Performance a week or so ago, just hoping for the best. But he was certainly a busy demon-- it would be okay if he didn't make it.*

Satan flipped through the dance’s program once more while the stage was set for the next dance and his eyes once more silently counted the number of acts left before it was Aami’s. The other dances had been enrapturing but he knew none of the dancers personally. It left him...a bit wanting, and more than a little impatient to see their preformance. The way they had spoken of it - he could still remember their own excitement and passion as they’d described it to them - made him all the more eager. 

The lights dimmed once more and Satan folded the paper neatly in his lap again to watch.

Satan pressed a finger to his cheek as he listened and nodded when they finished

Lord Diavolo, or any of us for that matter, don’t have close relations to many humans. The fact that it’s been some time since any of us have spent any extended stays in the human world makes all curious but with Diavolo’s plant to unite the three realms, I think that makes him the most curious of all. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he did intend to go to your dance as a friend. 

As for what I think...

I’ve known Lord Diavolo for longer than you have, and more of his, to put it a simple sense, Lord side. He can be quite scatterbrained in his rulings but he’s no pushover. It can be frustrating at times but I find it easier to deal with the aftermath than the Prince of the Devildom himself. All in all I can say that he’s the ruler of the Devildom for a reason but I wouldn’t be as impressed with any one else in his place.
