I've had a bigass Drifter ref sheet project for. A while. And I realized I hadn't shared my progress here yet!

The design is based off my love of Valkyr (and Xaku, AND void angels)... Had to translate the 5k+ hours I got somewhere, and apparently that means making a whole star wars reference book-esque page of this one character. Honestly, they rotate around in my brain constantly and forever.

AHEM... so remember that Poll I made earlier? About the names Nidus and Revenant. WELL LET ME EXPLAIN!

This au is actually a bit of a crossover with another game called Warframe, where 'Ninja's play for free!' (It's also a game I've been playing for a few years now! Really fun, and it gives you a good reason to support the game devs!) One of the main story quests in game is called 'The Hex', were it introduces us to a group of humans that have been infected/enhanced. The 6 members of the group end up becoming protoframes, which is pretty much the warframes from past quests(from which you earn and build as you play!) but retain their humanity(as best they can). And the reason for the two names? Nidus and Revenant are Warframes that you can get and build in game. My question for you was which one Leon would become. And you chose Revenant.

Now without further Adu, the promt~ (sorry its short, I am tired) The characters Tay(My good friend Mo's Drifter!) and Suzu(my Drifter) are the other two characters that pop up in this promt! Along with Suzu's Bubblegum Seveagoth-

Leon rounded the corner as bullets clipped the bricks with a faint hiss, ‘Efervon’ glowing like acid as it whizzed by his head. He let loose a curse, pistol pulled and firing. Someone screamed, alongside the sound of a glass dome popping and gas hissing. Good. One less to deal with. Another one of the scythe wielding dome heads rounded the corner, blade twirling. This time his foot connected with her skull, sending the soldier spinning as he kept running.

He didn’t understand! Why were they attacking him?! He hadn’t even done anything to earn their ire. Leon dipped his head as more acid green lanced over his head, again rounding the corner to- 

“SHIT!” Leon belted out, sliding under the massive club that had been aimed at his head. Twisting his body so that he was crouched on the ground, again ready to bolt as the massive man twisted his body to face him, pointing and shouting something in a language he wished he understood. More similarly dressed soldiers rounded the corner at the bigger ones shouting sent Leon sprinting. How long had he been running?

Since that pale skinned, pale eyed man jammed a needle into his neck. Not the first time it's happened. But it's the first one that's changed him.

Shredded pants cling stubbornly to what almost looks like steel flesh warping up his legs and uncomfortably down to his feet, the boot stretching to accommodate the new-strange growth. Raised Cuisses had ripped out as well, revealing an amalgamation of skin and steel flesh through the holes. Same thing with his shoulders, that armor pulling through the fabric. What even was this?? Leon was out in the open again, more soldiers had flooded the exits, weapons raised on him shouting orders in a foreign tongue. He rumbled, feeling the vibrations in his chest as blue smoke like energy brightened on his left arm. It was begging to be released.

“What do you want?!” Leon screamed out, head twisting around, searching for an exit. There was none that he could see, not without going through them. Out of the corner of his eye, he made out more of those scythe wielding dome heads, slowly stepping towards him with blades glinting in the moon light. “Stay back.” Leon hissed, feeling every muscle in him go stiff. They did not listen, steps quickening before they broke off into a full on sprint towards him. “NO!” Leon yelled, arm raising up.

He wasn’t expecting lasars to come out of his finger tips. Or the fact that he started SPINNING. Screams filled the air, the blue energy slicing through whatever it touched. Leon watched in growing horror as soldier after soldier lit up the night in that same eerie blue that was coming out of his arm. He couldn’t stop. He couldn’t STOP! Like doing this was draining everything from him. He couldn’t scream! Movement, peripheral. Leon turned his head with wide terror filled eyes just enough to see a pink and gold fist collide with his cheek. The lasers sputtered out as he dropped, face smarting from the closed fist. His… His vision was going dark? How hard was he punched?

Blurrily, Leon looked to the thing that punched him and hissed out a soft wheezy breath. ‘It’ was bubblegum pink, gold accenting the varying shades of the one color. It didn’t even have a face. It stared down at him with an expressionless face, but it had its head tilted in a way that was worried, confused! Another figure was approaching, green gold white. Something akin to a cowboy hat on their head? Leon couldn’t focus. His vision finally went dark as consciousness finally left him.

“Did you have to punch him that hard?” Tay asked, turning their Mesa’s head towards their pseudo sister, Suzume, who shrugged before kneeling down and carefully grabbing hold of the unconscious protoframe, his blonde hair fluttering in the breeze.

[I didn’t want him to hurt the civi’s. I think he’s new!] She signed one handed, looking over to their charges as they darted across the now empty street, and quickly ducking into cover again in the next alley. It’d been an accident that they’d come across him. Tay understood the fear in the man's blue eyes as the Eidolon energy erupted from him unfettered. No control. Like how Amir couldn’t stop his own power as he accidentally cooked Scaldra alive.(Tay still remembered hearing that story, Suzu holding him as he shuddered in her grasp.) [We need to get going. Stormfall on the way.] Tay perked at those signs.

“We have enough to worry about right now… You got him?” Tay asked softly, step quickening as Suzu gave a thumbs up before going into a jog. Tay looked back up at the sky, the air filling with the all too familiar drone of an airship.

Another day perhaps.

I have written the next chapter of my Warframe fic! Starting to hit that point where I'm actually having troubles wrangling together all the things I want to happen in this story. Not sure if I'm going to be getting another chapter out before Isleweaver hits, and with another game I've really been wanting to play coming out after it'll likely be a week or two before I get around to writing this again. Chapter 8 of demon inside of us is now finally written, and gods did I ever spend so much time writing this chapter. Others may have taken longer to get out, but I definitely spent the most time actually working on this one so far. Finally got around to posting the next chapter to The Demon Inside of Us! https://archiveofourown.org/works/66629170/chapters/176659856 Sorry this took a while, I finished writing the chapter in like 2 days then just sat there unhappy with certain parts of it and rewrote them slightly a few times until I was finally happy with it. Something tells me this may be a reouccuring trend in the next few days.

Nobody is going to find it nearly as funny as I did writing it but I do not care I love bobby. Next chapter I get to write lettie and Voruna sorting out their differences (maybe, we'll have to see if they get there), and perhaps a bit of bonding between Eleanor and Astra. I cannot wait to write more Voruna Shenanigans into this fic, but I'm also really caught up playing death stranding 2 so I probably won't be going mad writing tons like i did when i first started the fic.
