Godzilla: The Forgotten Remembered

Origin:

In China during the year 1936, Japanese Soldiers discovered a secret underground cavern containing what were believed to be the last dinosaurs. One of these specimens was brought by the soldiers to Doctor Daisuke Serizawa who dubbed the dinosaur as "Gojirasaurus" after the monstrous Gojira, a japanese legend from his home island of Kyushu. All of the Gojirasauruses were taken from their underground and tested on. Dr. Serizawa led the research, and in that research, he learned that the Gojirasaurus could reproduce asexually, that most firearms didn't affect Gojirasaurus, and that they were intellectual beings. They seemed to form relationships with the other prisoners, and so when forced to try and kill them, the Gojirasauruses refused.

This frustrated Dr. Serizawa, and so to try and make them cooperate, he started stressing them out to make them act out. The stessors would come in many forms such as random electrocution, adding various poisons to their food and water supply, and unwanted stimulation. Eventually realizing that the Gojirasaurus couldn't be trained, Serizawa began using the species as guinea pigs for his newest invention: the oxygen destroyer. The device was made to target the oxygen atoms in an organism's body. However, the device would only work in a body of water, and given the Gojirasauruses habitat was inside a body of water, that is where they were tested.

As the experiments continued, WWII was coming to a close, and Dr. Serizawa realized that his illegal research could not become discovered if he wanted to avoid consequences. So, he destroyed all documentation of the oxygen destroyer, and killed the remaining Gojirasauruses. However, one Gojirasaurus was able to escape the oxygen destroyer's effects through tunnelling underground. It swam out to open sea just as the oxygen destroyer activated, but some of the weapon's radiation took affect on the Gojirasaurus, slowly eating away at its body.

However, Gojira would find its escape to be futile as it would find itself on the shores of Nagasaki the day America would drop the atomic bombs on Japan. Consumed by the blast, the atomic radiation would interact with the radiation that had already began eating at Gojirasaurus from the oxygen destroyer. The Gojirasaurus would return to the sea only to fall into a comatose state at the bottom of Nagasaki's bay. During its comatose, the mixed radiation of both the oxygen destroyer and atomic bomb would cause the Gojirasaurus to absorb the matter surrounding it, growing bigger and stronger over the course of 73 years.

It awoke from its comatose metamorphosis in the summer. At the time, a strong typhoon had just hit Nagasaki, and the local residents had all taken shelter. The Gojirasaurus emerged from the ocean slowly, and upon emerging it heard the voice of one man. Although older and withered, the voice of this man was immediately recognizable. It was the voice of Daisuke Serizawa.

Serizawa felt the shaking approach of something, and when the roof of his house was toppled over by the swipe of Gojirasaurus' tail, the doctor initially considered the dinosaur's namesake to be his attacker. Serizawa's granddaughter, Emiko Serizawa, overheard her grandfather's last word "Gojira" just as Godzilla's foot slammed down on the doctor. When she reported this to authorities, news of Gojira spread quickly. When the American public overheard the story, the name of Gojira was translated to Godzilla.

Behavior:

Due to the trauma of being kept in a hostile lab setting, Godzilla is apprehensive of humans. He tries to avoid them most of the time, but when confronted, threatened, or attacked by them, Godzilla will not hesitate to attack the humans. When attacking humans, Godzilla shows no mercy as no mercy was shown to his own kind at the hands of Dr. Serizawa and the other scientists that experimented on him.

Height:

(Before Metamorphosis) 12 feet (After Metamorphosis) 167 feet

Abilities:

Acute Hearing- Even before its rebirth, Godzilla's hearing as a Gojirasaurus was the only way it could truly see. But after its evolution, Godzilla's hearing became even better as it can pinpoint distinct noises no matter how quiet. This also gives Godzilla the ability of sonar.

Amphibious Biology- Godzilla can survive both land and sea even before his nuclear rebirth.

Atomic Roar: Also known as his “Atomic breath”, When experiencing high amounts of stress, Godzilla’s spines and scutes will all quickly glow up with a bright magenta light before Godzilla unleashes a powerful scream. This scream propels a radioactive smog that is so potent it can cause instant death upon exposure. The sound waves from the scream also can make people death and if close enough, their insides will liquify.

Durability- Conventional Artillery, tanks, and bombs cannot harm the king of the monsters. This is because even before its rebirth, Godzilla was covered had a dense body structure comparable to that of a hippo and an ankylosaurus. However, attacks from other kaiju can do some harm to Godzilla.

Intellect- Godzilla's intelligence is notable due to its show of complex thought and emotions.

Nuclear-Charged Thagomizer- When focusing its tail with atomic energy, Godzilla can deliver crushing blows to its enemies.

Ranged Atomokinesis- Due to Godzilla's unique abilities, the monster can also manipulate the atoms around him to a degree. Any time he does suffer a considerable amount of damage, he can simply reheal himself by pulling back the atoms that had fallen off of him. This is also how he can grow bigger as he can tear apart nearby matter and then add it to his own body. This is also how Godzilla sustains its massive height.

Radiokinetic Field- A short ranged field of controlled radiation can be emitted from Godzilla's body when threatened. When standing too close to his radioactive field, a person can die instantly.

Weaknesses:

Blindness- Due to having initially evolving to living in an underwater cavern, Godzilla's eyes are blind. It is however still able to distinguish light and darkness with its eyes.

High Frequency noises- these noises can both harm and distract Godzilla.

Trivia:

The origin and idea of my version of Godzilla is based on the happenings of Unit 731 which is a unit of the japanese army during WWII that performed horrific tests on the chinese people. If you don't recall hearing about this before, its because the American government granted the people in unit 731 immunity in exchange for the research. I'd recommend doing research on this, but be warned, what happened in Unit 731 is quite gruesome.

Godzilla's design is based on the monsterverse Godzilla with its facial structure and thagomizer tail. However the scutes (the little round red things covering this Godzilla's back) were taken from ankylosaurus. It also took inspiration from Godzilla's design from Godzilla: Singular Point

Dr. Serizawa's behavior does not reflect anything seen in canon material. In the original 1954 movie, Serizawa was a man who was afraid of his own invention, the oxygen destroyer. In the 2019 Godzilla: King of the Monsters movie, Serizawa was a scientist working for Monarch who admired Godzilla. My version of Serizawa is meant to reflect the many scientists that worked on Unit 731.

Godzilla's Atomic Roar is partly based on what would happen if a real Godzilla were to roar. Its also inspired by Shin Godzilla's release of that flammable gas before using its own atomic breath. My version of Godzilla however cannot produce a laser beam atomic breath after expelling the noxious gas.

Other Notes:

I'm considering making more kaiju to go along with Godzilla: The Forgotten Remembered. I don't know if they will be previous kaiju like Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah or Anguirus or some new kaiju.

Please, and I do mean this, please, if you're going to look up Unit 731, prepare yourself. It is not for the light-hearted.
