My character Jareth
I think he is my oldest original character, and I pretty much stopped drawing him as soon as I started drawing Aidyn. I don’t think I ever drew him as much but I do remember drawing him from time to time on the sketchbook we were supposed to have for High School Art class. At that time I was very inspired by a class art project to only use primary colors. Also I’ve always liked the dark, gothic, alternative scene, and at that time the emo style was very popular, I feel that that inspired the creation of this drawing and character. Also that one video from Panic! at the Disco, “I write Sins not Tragedies” the top hat, I probably got it from there.
The first one from 2007 was drawn on the sketchbook that I then scanned and colored with a mouse. For the 2010 I already had my tablet so it was easier for me to go in and draw over the old drawing. I was so satisfied with that drawing that I didn’t think about changing it until recently that I took a look at it and decided I could probably draw his hat better. The 2018 version is all new, I thought about going over the old drawing but I figured that it would probably be easier to just draw it out again instead of trying to “fix” the older version.
Now the question remains, did I hide his other eye with hair because it was the hairstyle or because I didn’t want to draw the other eye....might have been the style back then.....
