they’re set in a fantasy world I have very few details for at the moment. I yapped a lot about them in the tags of my other post so ig read that or send me an ask if you’re curious about them! I’ll probably make a bright chart at some point but for reference Auberon is the tallest, followed by Safie, Kimi, and finally Ehno.

Okay, lets rip the bandage off and get these fellas out here fast.

Kaiju Paradise is kinda a controversial topic, I started seeing. Just wanted to point out that I made OCs of these fellas way back around 2022, a few in 2023, back when I actually enjoyed the game. I mostly do not anymore. I just appreciate the great character designs they have to offer.

In the case of Faye and Kimi, they, alongside Netsui, were the first KP OCs I made way back in April of 2022, a few months before the whole drama with the creator of Faye's species even arose, and two years before the creator of Kimi's species did, as well. I didn't feel great scrapping these OCs that were pretty massive in their lore storyline, so I kept them (Plus, I still REALLY like the designs).

Okay, now that I kind of cleared all that up, I'll get to more about the refs themselves.

Fun fact, I actually made these guys's updated refs between January and March of this year! They were actually the first of my OCs to receive redesign/updated refs.

However, obviously, since they are earlier refs, they are somewhat subject to needing redesign. In the case of Exo, Zea, and Netsui, they were the earliest of the bunch to get refs, being the January ones. They have somewhat of a faulty anatomy because of this, and simply need an update for it.

Umbra and Exo simply just need a redesign entirely because their gootraxian species recieved redesigns in Kaiju Paradise itself.

Oh yeah. Worth noting, these fellas BY FAR have the most lore written about them over all my OCs, because their backstories are just so convoluted and complex. I think I have like a whole 100+ page google doc story about em, granted it's unfinished and very shittily written.

Kimi didn’t even think before offering her hand for him to inspect. It was already a habit when being seen and taken seriously for medical reasons to just do it. The alcohol did in fact sting but there wasn’t a flinch. While it was irritatingly on her palm, which meant her typing days would be slowed, it didn’t feel deep enough to need stitches at the very least. 

“Luckily it doesn’t look too deep,” Simon murmured, finishing up cleaning her hand and blowing on it lightly to help dry the alcohol before getting a bandage out to cover it. He placed it over the wound, then started to do the same with the scrapes on Kimi’s knees. “I’m so sorry this happened to you. And right outside of New Jericho too. If I find out it was one of the androids living here that attacked you, quite frankly, I’m going to be pissed.” He hoped it was just some random human on the streets and not one of the tenants here that tried to pull the mugging on poor Kimi. But either way, he was going to check the security feed later to make sure.

Safie~ She was born into a minor noble family, House Lakatos, far from the summer palace town where Ehno woke up. She was set up to accept lordship, as the eldest “son,” but the expectations and lifestyle were unbearable for her. As a result, she ran away with Kimi when she turned 14. Kimi’s parents worked with the small militia of the Lakatos family- both died when she was young, so Kimi was semi-raised by the community. Safie met her one night hanging around the stables, trying to have a break from her parents. They hit it off immediately, Kimi’s honesty and straightforwardness helping Safie deconstruct her bottling-up and overcomplicating tendencies.

Safie’s shapeshifting abilities aren’t entirely known- they run in her family on her father’s side, and folklore suggests a shapeshifting fae fell in love with a human and blessed her family with the gift- or curse. For a long time, the Lakatos family was oppressed for using “dark magic,” but in the past couple generations, the overruling monarchy granted their fiefdom in return for submission to their rule and admission to their culture.

Technically, Safie is kind of on the run. Her parents are still looking for her- while they were strict and at time ignorant, she has misunderstood them- they want her to come home and repair their relationship. She and Kimi primarily travel through the woods, only occasionally saying in towns and keeping a low profile. Safie tends to stay in a small form- a mouse, robin, or snake, so she can stay in Kimi’s bag or hood.

Random oc fun fact if you guys wanna know. I think Kimi’s voice claim would be catra, not for any of the smirky snarky emotionally manipulative stuff (Kimi’s not like that at all) but for the “adora doesn’t want me like i want her” because Safie is emotionally constipated and the pair have NOT remotely worked out their relationship <3

Meet Kimi and December!! :3

Kimi (she/her):

- Non-picrew visual

- 22 y/o (Spring 26)

- 5’5”

- Super into studying the sea and its creatures (girly LOVES jellyfish) (she was originally a stardew OC that I based off of the moonlight jellies that I scrapped lmao)

- She was a marine biologist working directly with the adventurers guild in the capital before coming to Mistria

- Gains a new appreciation for land creatures upon adopting a bunch of chickens and cows. She would die for them. They are the only children she ever wants

- Has an oddly friendly love triangle with Reina and Hayden. Wants them both SO BAD GOD PLEASE LET US HAVE POLYAMORY IN THE FUTURE (for now, Reina is endgame for her!)

- Besties with Olric but hates March with a burning passion, and still doesn’t trust him or open up to him even after he finally stops being a dick. Makes hanging out with Olric at their place VERY awkward

- Super close with Eiland, Errol and Terithia too by proxy of being an absolute dork about her interests

December (she/her):

- 28 y/o (Winter 20)

- 5’2”

- Designed her to be all wintery and cold and etc to contrast March. She’s reserved, quiet, aloof, has a bit of a RBF

- She’s… ~cool~ if you will *an omniscient being throws tomatoes at me* . Super sweet but it’s very hard to tell at first

- She was an up and coming snowboarder but stopped due to a life-threatening accident. She took that as a sign to stop and take a different path, thus joining the adventurer’s guild, and eventually becoming a farmer

- Winds up adoring mining, and becomes a great blacksmith by proxy, but isn’t super fond of it (aside from the fact that she can crack open March’s shell while she’s at it. Like she is so fascinated by him on an almost scientific level, but also wants to smooch him silly). It’s more of a means to an end

- Gets on well with everyone in town, but Celine is her fastest friend because of how dang sweet she is. She feels safe with her instantly and opens up to her faster than with the others. Ryis is up there too, and they have a sibling-like bond pretty quickly
