i love getting tags about obasi saying that she’ll kill you because she honestly… won’t. she hates violence, as a matter of fact. it’s purely a last resort, and even then, she will do anything to avoid killing. obasi has only killed when she was forced to when she was a child. after that she swore to never kill or rely on violence to resolve conflicts. this has somewhat developed into near pacifism and an wavering inability to confront conflicts at all— ah, yes, character flaws…

see, if you told obasi that you think she’d kill you, obasi is more likely to chuckle at you and go: “now why would i do that? i haven’t got a reason to do something so awful.”

her exterior is purely an unintentional facade. she doesn’t exactly know how to express who she truly is beyond actions. while she is certainly stoic and rough around the edges, obasi is probably my kindest, softest character personality-wise. also, for the record, she’s very squeamish about gore and violence in general. when a fight breaks out, she’s quick to flinch and turn away… unless it’s noctis. for some reason, she can’t look away when it’s noctis.

though, she isn’t oblivious to how intimidating she is. she wishes she could be perceived in a less harsher image than she usually is. that’s why she does her makeup. especially her eyeliner. obasi enjoys the charm of it, and hopes that to an extent, it can soften that terrifying appearance of hers.

heya sixx! idk how to do these but to start, i love your artstyle and characters! i'm curious about a few things regarding faenil.

how is faenil when it comes to physical contact? like hugs and such.

is it something they hate? or something they only tolerate either once they know someone better or have grown close with someone?

do they secretly crave it but deny themself?

and another thing regarding them.

how does faenil feel about being complimented? about either their appearance or skills.

i imagine they probably aren't used to that or don't get it alot, and am curious how'd they respond to receiving said compliments.

i'm sorry if these are hella weird! 😭 everytime i see faenil and am reminded of how miserable they feel i want to hug them and tell them they are gonna be okay. 💔 yes, eventhough they are taller than a house and look like mania personafied. 🩷

This was probably a valentine's day special and I was gonna draw something for the occasion but I got busy </3 Ramble incoming:

The short answer to both questions is that Faenil is absolutely terrible when it comes to physical contact and compliments. Yes they deny themself these things on purpose and subconsciously so even if they may enjoy it one moment they'll compensate the nice feeling and vulnerability by getting extra rude and cold soon after. You'll have to be really special to them to even get to that point, and if you do, choose your words with care - maybe instead of straight up liking them you simply find their presence welcome and tolerable. Saying you love them is like a trigger word for Faenil's "kill everyone in sight" mode, it's quite awful. Also here's a cute doodle from last year I still like:

Faenil finds most forms of affection suspicious or dishonest, after all they've been told they're physically defective, disturbing and unlikable for most of their life, so it's kind of confusing whenever the dynamic flips. It somehow feels safer for Faenil to maintain the hostile status quo than accept some kind of vulnerable relationship where they may get hurt in a much deeper way. Yeah this elf has insane levels of problems as you may guess. They also believe they'll end up hurting anyone they care about no matter what so they'll do that "this is the skin of a killer, Brelyna" shit often. And in many ways that belief isn't unfounded.

But it's definitely not impossible to get past. Faenil secretly really likes the compliments when it comes from someone they appreciate, and craving physical touch is just natural. Also, I'd imagine children get a pass with most things, since Faenil is surprisingly well behaved around them, I think especially in the Honorhall orphanage the kids climb Faenil like a tree and they're mildly confused but ultimately ok with that. They may do that typical cat behaviour thing where they just totally coincidentally happen to be in the same room as you all the time as well.

Lastly, as you may know, Brelyna unfortunately has questionable as fuck taste in people so these two become... something. A thing for sure. And it's toxic but also occasionally cute and then occasionally miserable and somehow a relief inside the torment nexus.

Hiii!! I have 2 questions about Benjamin’s powers, and the incident that happened in the family’s home town: Did the incident cause Benjamin to have his powers? And how did the incident make him an outcast?

ooh good questions!

The incident that happened at the family's hometown was the original cause of Benji's powers. (The incident happens months before their official move to Weepbury, which is where the story takes place)

Without spoiling too much, Benji was meant to die that night, but with a strong refusal to let go, something went wrong, and Benji became half ghost through it.

And Benji, even before the incident, was always a bit of an outcast. He liked and did unconventional things all the time, and the other kids thought he was weird for it (if I had to pick a close personality to him, I would say Lilo from Lilo and Stitch). The other kids always either made fun of him or just didn't talk to him, and Benji tends to act before thinking, so he's gotten into a few fights at school as well. His only friends are his siblings, really. Benji considers Henry his best friend, though, since he feels as though he understands him the most.

homegirl kinda got decapitated and her exoskeleton wasn’t completely fixed, the clear overlay to hold the broken chunks together didn’t completely wrap around the opening of the injury due to missing some of the pieces. now she just covers it with a collar and made it a cool party trick to remove it and go giraffe mode.

ALSO. the bellows in her neck can push out air through the rips and she can improvise a whistling sound, which is mainly how she communicates in automata-doll language (complex system of beeps and whistles). alas, the gel coolant leaks out and distorts it which makes it hard to understand… it doesn’t gush out as much as shown above but you Get the idea ☝️
