Ryden laughs, “Why do you want to know what I listen to?” You just thought music was a good way to get to know her. She thinks for a moment. “Sorry, maybe not this time. It’s kind of personal, y’know? Plus I’ll save you laughing at my shitty music tastes for next time.” You leave it at that.
I really like Feng! I’d love to see how she and Ryden “get along”. It’s in quotations ‘cause idk if they would even like each other
A/N: I thought about this as I was making Feng actually! They’d eventually be civil, but their first meeting might be a bit…
Feng couldn’t stop the incredulous expression that crossed her face as her eyes landed on the glaive in front of her. Wild hair, unkempt, crumpled and slightly frayed uniform—was the coat shorter than the usual standard?
Even under her scrutinizing gaze, the glaive in front of her simply gave an easy grin. “Yo.”
Feng couldn’t even dignify the greeting with a proper response. “This is the glaive you’ve chosen to represent the current Kingsglaive unit? This is who you want to stand in for the special operations squadron at an official gala?” She turned to Monica who seemed amused at her harsh feedback.
“Ryden was a key member in the success of power distribution during our darkest days. Also, I do believe she scrubs up well.” Monica replied smoothly and Ryden did her best not to let her smirk seem too smug. “Libertus agrees that she would benefit from the experience of an official event.”
“I can see why she wasn’t invited to any previously,” Feng commented through gritted teeth. Taking a deep breath, she tried not to stress herself out any more than this last minute, haphazard, godforsaken shitty event was already stressing her out. Appeasing old council members was never easy and of course she would be shafted with the task of pleasing the worst of the old crones. “I trust your judgement, Monica.” Although she was quietly questioning it a bit this time. “I’ll arrange for this glaive—”
“Hey, I’m right here you know.” Ryden butted in. “It’s Ry. Not ‘this glaive’ or whatever.” Monica had warned her that Feng was a something of a stiff, but six this woman seemed so tense that if she shoved coals up her ass she’d be coughing up diamonds.
“I’ll arrange a new uniform for Ry for the event.” Even though Feng used the glaive’s name, she still addressed Monica. “Please look over the briefing documents. It has guest’s names and titles, as well as the order of official proceedings.” She held out the folder of papers to Monica, but Ryden snatched it out of her hands. Internally, Feng screamed in frustration.
“Do you know what I think would help with your attitude?” Ryden suddenly asked and Monica knew she was too late to stop it. “I feel like you need a hard dicking to loosen up.”
Feng tried not to react, although her cheeks flushed ever so slightly at the crass comment. “Goodbye, glaive. And you Monica.” The woman turned on her heel and quickly left, obviously flustered. The machine in her mind was already thinking of back up plans for if and when she’d have to kick Ryden out of the event.
“Ryden, what did I tell you not to do on the way to the Citadel.” Monica shot her a look; it wasn’t a question. “Feng isn’t the easiest person to work with, but if you respect her then it’ll go smoothly.”
The wild glaive snorted. “Please. As if I’m wrong.”
A/N: thank you for saying you like Feng, anon. And for thinking of Ryden again!! <3
