Stacie shook her head at Chloe who had started crying. “No! No she’s- Beca is alive!” She all but yelled and it took Chloe several seconds before the words sunk down and realization hit.
“S-she’s alive?” Stacie nodded feverishly at the question.
“Yes, yes she’s alive but, well, she didn’t walk away unscratched from the crash either,” Stacie said and looked from Aubrey to Chloe and back before she noticed Amy who finally reached the three other women while gasping for air as if her life depended on it.
“Stace, stop talking in riddles and just-” Aubrey started but Stacie interrupted.
“Come, I’ll show you where she is, where all of us are,” She said and held Aubrey’s hand while she started to guide them through the trees and bushes on their way to their destination.
Chloe followed suit and looked at Amy who now walked right next to her. “She’ll be alright, Red, our shawty is tougher than a bag of nails.” Amy managed to say, still out of breath and thankful for this slow pace.
Chloe nodded at Amy’s words, her mind racing and wondering in what state they’d find Beca in. At least Beca wasn’t dead or dying, which was the one thing that Chloe had feared the most. But Stacie also said that Beca hadn’t walked away from the crash unscratched, which meant that Beca did sustain some kind of injury.
