Remus tossed his phone to the side, hating having to lie to his own mother. He felt like shit and was regretting ever coming here. He could be at home right now with his ma and Seren going for a beautiful walk. Instead, he was in a new space with a roommate who kept disappearing and a best friend who’s already hungover and most likely wouldn’t be up in time to join him in the dining hall.

Hated. Disgusted.

That’s how I felt when I left my house. Leaving the Pale One behind.

Alone. Scared…

I headed to the bathes so I could try and scrub this feeling off of me. I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t enjoy doing it. But it had to be done. She wouldn’t be safe otherwise. The way those gentle eyes had looked at me… A shiver went down my spine as I finally arrived at the bathhouse. I removed my clothes and hurried into the hot water. Using a washing cloth to scrub away, or at least try to, the disgusting feeling. The words she had spoken. How she had said them. Although I did not speak her tongue. I could imagine what she had said.

I continued to scrub my skin. Scrub away what I had done. Force down the memories of her fearful eyes. Her tears and cries. I let out a frustrated growl and punched the edge of the bath. Again and again and again. Tried to move the hurt I felt in my own heart to another place but it was no use.

By the time I slowly slid down deeper into the water, my hand was a complete, bloody mess. Coloring the water faintly pink before it turned back to normal. I flinched when a sudden voice seemed to come out of nowhere.

“So, what did that poor edge do to you huh…?”

I looked up at Sket and let out a soft growl. “Fuck… you startled me. What the hell are you doing here?”

Sket raised an amused eyebrow. “Well… getting clean? That’s what normal people do in here… unlike you who start punching the fucking marble…” She smirked and stepped naked into the hot water. “So… I guess you broke in the Pale One huh…”

If I had been able to kill her with a single look, she would be dead. “Shut the fuck up!”

“Tsk tsk… touchy…” She said with a smile, slowly starting to wash her own body.

“How the hell do you know what I…-” I swallowed hard. Unable to finish my sentence. Sket rolled her eyes.

“Her scent is all over you. Is that what you’re trying to scrub off? Was she such a disappointment?”
