Way to ruin the moment Snuffy! :c

Dragons in Aurea are able to sizeshift and change their appearance to a certain extent (they can't add organs or limbs that they don't already have for example). I figured that it's something Keiki would be able to learn to do. Or I just wanted an excuse to draw him more human.

So here's Keiki practising to take on a human form with the patient Snuffy. Who knew what he was thinking from the expression on his face. Keiki forgot about the concept of clothes. xD

What would a day in town be like for keiki and snuffy (assuming he got the size shifting magic right)? Also would snuffy have to drag keiki back into the water since he’s so interested in human stuff? 😂

It'd start well. Keiki wouldn't be able to squeeze down to a human size, but he'd be a more manageable 20 feet. And they'd get him some clothes able to change with him ((to a certain extent. It's clothes that dragons use; they're very costly and time-consuming to make but that's a different topic))

So they'd be checking out the markets and sights. But the good start would eventually end up like

One little accident later and once Keiki loses his cool it quickly escalates. Especially when it comes to shifting magic. And none of the townsfolk are panicking because they trust Snuffy to have it handled. Meanwhile Snuffy's inner monologue be like "Ohnononononononoonononono-!!" xD

Snuffy would have tro drag Keiki back by his tail (yes literally) so he wouldn't be too anxious to ever try shifting or going near towns again. You know... back in the saddle kinda thing. Because no, the townsfolk aren't out to get him after that. xD

What are Snuffy and Hilda doing now that winter has melted into spring?

Hilda becomes dangerously vitalized during spring. She'll spend a lot of time in her garden. Planting new flowers and vegetables, deweeding, pruning the trees etc!

It does worry Snuffy. He struggles to keep up with her pace and insist on her resting more. Or at the very least let him help her! But the old woman in return stands firm; she's tended to this garden for 20 years. She's fine, he can rest. xD

Ooo was there a specific reason why Snuffy left before his magic fully developed? And could Hilda help him navigate his magic or connect him with dragons for help?

He had 4 reasons.

His siblings. xD

While Hilda herself wouldn't be able to help with the magic part, she could definitely introduce him to other dragons. Or an expert in the field. She's got many connections! :3

Are there different types of dragons than Snuffy? Also do you have a backstory for how he came to where Hilda lives and befriended her?

Bonus q: when did he first tasted pie?

Nah it's just one type! They just have a large variety of features! Some will have scales and hair, others will have feathers and some only scales. It's most common to be fully scaled, the "classic" dragon. :)

There's not much a story honestly! Snuffy just wanted to see the country they live in (most dragons live on Titanik but not Snuffy's family). He left before his magic had fully matured meaning he could only be full dragon or a very large humanoid when he first met Hilda. But it worked out because Hilda's a retired explorer and friends with many dragons! ;)

First time was actually Hilda's pies. After that, no other pie will ever measure up ((he'll be polite about it and eat other pies, it's just not Hilda's pff)).

What are the limits to Snuffy’s shapeshifting magic?

He'll have the same limits as any other dragon. Unable to add any extra limbs or organs (they can "tuck in" already existing limbs). They can't become venomous for example or grow extra wings. Which is a reason why Snuffy can't change into a form capable of flight: his wings didn't develop properly.

Dragons always keep parts of their draconic form. Be it some scales, the tail, colors, ears etc. Any creature with four limbs are easier to resemble. Snuffy wouldn't be able to look like a proper dog for example. But a mix of the two. Like anyone could instantly tell that it's a shifted dragon. So even in humanoid form, he'll keep his tusks, tail and have scattered scales on his skin! :)

And they can't shrink beyond a certain point. The limit varies from dragon to dragon. Snuffy can't shrink his mass smaller than an average human for example.

Does the town near Hilda ever warm up to Snuffy? And how’d they react to finding out and seeing that Hilda befriended and hosts a dragon?

Oh yeah, Snuffy's very polite and considerate. They warm up to him quickly. ;)

They're not used to dragons in their part of the world so they were intimidated initially. But Hilda befriending a dragon? Yeah that's nothing new; she knows a bunch of them! She's told numerous stories of her adventures with them. It was more a dragon hanging out with her near their community that was a shocker haha!
