I've only had Alys for a prologue and a half, but if anything happened to her, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself (oh my god so many things are going to happen to her)

Character Description Ask Meme

1. Them as a child

Ellie 

The only time Ellie actually got to be a kid was when her mom was alive, so for the first ten years of her life and even then she had an odd childhood, she grew up in brothel so it was interesting to say the least. Although most of the other workers fawned over her and mothered her she still got exposed to a lot of stuff Very Early. She still looks back on that part of her life fondly. Then her mom died and she was thrown to the streets and I think after that she just stopped being a kid, I mean its hard to be one when everyday is a date with death, and you go to bed knowing there’s a good chance you wont wake up. And then she got bit and had to learn to survive that, and by the time she was 15 she’s a famed hero of legend, and not much time in between killing dragons to be a kid either. 

Jen

Jen didn’t have the most mundane childhood either, I mean, she grew up in a cult. However, she didn’t exactly think it was anything out of the ordinary until her parents were trying to kill her. So, she actually did get the chance to be a kid in between all the cult stuff. She was essentially the little girl who wears flowers crowns and flowy dresses and runs through the grass in bare feet. She’d be gone all day playing outside and then come home with mud on her clothes and scraped knees but grasping a bouquet of flowers to give to her mom. Needless to say a lot has changed since she was a kid. 

4. Their laugh

Ellie 

Ellie’s laugh is pretty rare, most of the time you’ll get a small smile out of her but that’s about as far as it goes. But when she does laugh it starts as a giggle and then if its funny enough it’ll grow until she’s literally snorting and then trying to stop because embarrassment But that only makes it laugh harder. Her laugh is the kind of laugh that you can’t help but join in on. 

Jen  

Jen will try very hard to not laugh most of the time, it ruins her aesthetic, you see. So she’ll bite her lip, shake her head, maybe roll her eyes, but sometimes a chuckle escapes, which will turn into a laugh and she’ll duck her head and cover her mouth, but in those moments you get a picture of the little girl who used to spend all day in the woods collecting flowers. 

5. Their crying

Ellie 

Ellie doesn’t cry, she can’t. She knows that the minute she cries, the minute she lets down the walls and ahs one moment of weakness the dam is going to break and everything she’s been piling up, that weight on her shoulders would rush her. And she doesn’t have time for that, not when the fate of the world rests on her shoulders, so she just keeps moving forward, if she keeps moving and doesn’t think then she’ll be fine, right?

Jen

Jen does cry and she hates herself for it, she cries over things big and small, and crying means you have feelings, it means you have weakness and she hates that. She’s created this image of herself as someone cold and unbothered and has even started to believe it herself, but that image gets ruined the minute she starts crying because she saw a lost puppy. So she’ll usually try to hide it or cover it up, and in her worst moments lash out. 

6. Their interactions with their children, if they have them

Jen 

Jen and Kai eventually do adopt (maybe have a kid of their own? Idk) And Jen already has a tendency to “mother” people so she fits into the role pretty well even though she’s terrified at first since she didn’t exactly have role model parents and she’s convinced herself she’ll just pass a long all of her issues onto her children. But she loves her kids with every fiber of her being and does end up being a very good mother. 

Hektor 

So Hektor doesn’t have kids that’s something to bring up with @curiousitree lol so this is all hypothetical to say if he did have kids. And if he did have kids he would be such a good dad. He grew up an older brother and essentially took care of his siblings more than his parents actually did, so it would be nothing knew to him. Again, he would be scared of having kids for a multitude of reason, one of them being the potential for them to be used against him, the other being that there’s a lot of... bad people in his family, and what if his kid turns out to be just like his brother, or his parents. Or what if he turns out to be the same kind of parent as his were and thus leads to them being as psychotic as his siblings. But I think he would also love being a dad and the likelihood of him turning out like his parents is pretty low lol.

17. Them sleeping

Ellie 

Well, first off Ellie actually sleeping is pretty rare. The dynamic duo of her beast blood and just general insomnia making sleeping nearly impossible for her, so when she does sleep it’s restful sleeping and usually is chalked full of nightmares, she’s lucky if she gets maybe three hours of sleep time. 

Alys 

On the topic of sleep being rare, Alys isn’t very good at it either but she doesn’t have beast blood to blame for it, just good old PTSD. When she does sleep she tends to curl up in a ball and bury herself under pillows and blankets, that way when she wakes up from nightmares she’s at least comfortable and surrounded by blankets.
