Aspidelaps - to clarify the lil swirls on his face is blush btw. Anyway i struggled between basing his design off ringtails or some sort of cobra but i went with cobras, specifically thr genus aspidelaps (i think those r cobras?) hence his name. Aspidelaps was raised in the rainforest by an elderly rainwing couple who’ve adopted an army of children besides him so he grew up with a lot of company alll the time. The scar on his face is from an encounter with a panther when he was you ger. Ouchi 😔. He left home at a fairlyy young age (9) and lives in Sanctuary now working as a chef and trying to learn scavenger language or whatever its called. He gets very easily flustered and angry but he has friends to help him. He’s happy :D
Bongo - based her off the animal bongos. I saw an image call bongos the fashionistas of the desert for a split second and rolled with it for her. She was raised off the coast of the kingdom of sand with her parents in their lil house. She broke her right wing vrry badly in an accident and they went to the acoepion den to find a doctor. They spent a week or so there before the doctors said the wing couldn’t be saved and they’d have to amputate it, so they did that. Bongos family moved into the acorpion den afterwards and shortly after Bongo was inspired to pursue music. Now as an adult shes a famous singer in tge scorpion den and all across western pyrrhia
Perdita - ill admit i got lazy with perdita.. sorry girl ill consider redesigning you in the far future. Shes kinda based off giraffes honestly and no insects whatsoever and i just picked out a random bug for her name. Mostly because i refused to look at pictures of bees or anything gor inspo becaude i woulf not be able to handle that i would absolutely freak out. Her wing webbing is thin like hivewing wings but her wing structure isnt made to fly with that so she cant rlly fly without tearing her wings severely. No dont pay attention to how her outer wings are full opacity STOP IT. Perdita was born in pantala in one of the hives idk or care which it doesnt matter, and spent most of her childhood livinh with her hivewing mother and her three siblings. Her sandwing father visited evefy few months from pyrrhia. Her family moved to pyrrhia when she was 5 to live with the father in a house near the great five-tail river i think thats what its called. When she was like 11 or something (still living with her family) she decided to go to Renewal to help with a large archive being built thrrr idk im not going into detaol. Now she works at said archive doing whatever people that work at archives do i dunno
Celastrina - doubtlessly my favorite out of the batch i rlly like her design, which is based off the celastrina echo whivh i thiink is a butterfly? Idk might be something else like a moth but anyway. Celastrina was hatched in sanctuary to a silkwing mother who was desperate to get off pantala and a ceramicist sandwing father who had found her mother hopelessly lost off the coast of the kingdom of sand. Celastrina was hatched a few years after that encounter alongside one older sibling. She grew up in Sanctuary and still lives there, caring for her fathers parents alongside her parents. She makes custom ceramics sometimes and sells them, and loves collecting tgings. She has a collection of preserved flowers, a beetle collection, probably a rock collection too, yadayada buncha other stuff
Globemallow - i got rlly lazy with this guy too mb. I couldve done a lot better with his color palette and overall design but whatever im not redesigning him any time soon. His leafwing fathrr had left pantala to see pyrrhia and ended up staying in the rainforest kingdom since it was essentially the poison jungle but hundrrdds of times better. Hed met globemallows mother there, a florist sandwing whod been visiting the rainforest to collect flowers. Blablabla they get married and live in the rainforest together and have Globemallow. Globemallow left the rainforest when he was 12 ish around tgat age and went to tge sky kingdom to become an artisan blacksmith and sell commissioned metalwork
Also just now noticing that there might be confusion abt timeline stuff for these guys. Just to clarify, most of them are all born at different time periods, some might be born before the ss war, some after book 15, bla bla bla
