An AU reimagining of Hero for my friend, Isabongo's own OC setting.

Hero, or Hassan in this setting, was an amnesiac orphan raised alongside her closest friend, Mastema, in one of many church-funded orphanages. Hassan was the name given to her by that friend, believing her to be a particularly handsome boy and crushing on her. The crush persisted into adulthood and intensified with Hassan being the only one clueless about it.

Mastema went on to rise in the ranks of the clergy while Hassan left the orphanage, eventually sheltering, caring for, bonding with & subsequently forming a contract with her 'dog' in its moment of need. It's highly protective of her as a result, often snarling at Mastema who regularly comes to visit.

Unbeknownst to Hassan, Mastema had secretly contracted with a true demon to sabotage the organization. While the branch responsible for it was shut down, both of them had suffered severe religious trauma throughout their childhood. While the Hassan's aversion to the organization of the church had waned with her mortuary becoming affiliated with them, Mastema's hatred for them only festered.

Eventually, the archbishop discovered Mastema and her demon, eviscerating them both. While Hassan searched for Mastema after her disappearance, she never could find her best friend or discover what happened to her.

//In this setting, the world exists in a post-war state where Hell and the Four Horsemen waged war upon the human world. Most of the Horsemen were slain aside from Death and demons born after the war have tried to integrate into society with some prejudice.

Any demons that had existed before the war are referred to as True Demons and hunted down. Whether they were active participants in the war now looking for retribution or they're just existing peacefully, they're still able to be compelled and forced to go berserk by influences from Hell.

Thus, True Demons are hunted down without mercy.

A separate wordline wherein The Empty Maw and all other spirits were born mortal while their partners were born spirits. The Empty Maw of this world has no name, no family, no past or ties to anyone. Only the aching, gnawing hunger that drives it to consume.

Only consumption makes that emptiness go away, if only briefly. He doesn't know when the woman in the shadows became attached to him nor why but she makes the hunger pangs go away and he remains eternally grateful. They are all that each other have.

ebony is a glaceon just out of Pokemon high school or whatever. She moves into an old house which is haunted by like 6 different spirits. They’re friend shaped tho so they get the spooky magic friend group. They would all probably kill or at least beat up someone for her. But they’re chill.

she also has a crush on this sweet little leafeon with silver leaves. but she’s the Scary one who everyone thinks is goth. She’s not. Ok. Theyre just kinda like that.

and the whole supernatural gang are like haha we can help with that . girl we gotchu . wingman time,,,,

Night blankets the world, the dark moons stretch across the skies all the intrusive thoughts are smothered by silence and the Doomlight can't reach you.

It is a pleasant dream and the memory brings a quiet solace before you awaken. Before you remember what happened to it. Before you realize that it is gone forever and the ache in your chest returns.

The Hero

The Hero of her worldline, she came under the employ of Empress Gravelyn and Queen Victoria as essentially a pro bono assassin.

A nameless blade. She has no name, no history or motivation. She is a non-entity that only follows orders. Even if one were to ask her how she came under the service of both monarchs, she'd just shrug. She doesn't remember and doesn't care to.

She has no need for words, people or money and lives everyday in a hazy blur, following one hit after another.

Alive but not really living.

This design is a rework of a way older design for Outis from before she had a name and when her envisioned story arc, themes and struggles were far different.

As she is, she's a completely separate character though.
