Over the last few years of designing gijinkas I’ve ended up doing a whole bunch of worldbuilding, so I might as well get around to making some sketches and posts that just feature the gijinkaverse.
Recently I’ve been really influenced by DnD and fleshed out how clerics, paladins, and worship of legendaries work in general. Some legendaries are deities and answer to prayers and worship, some aren’t.
Cleric adventurers are as much of a thing in this universe as DnD, but their devotion to their deity is more a way to channel their own inherent magic than a source of it. It may inspire some gijinkas to learn non-STAB moves of their patron deity, such as Jazz learning Superpower and Protect to be a protector like her patron deity Zamazenta, or Pablo using Flamethrower to evoke he flames of Reshiram. Legendaries will sometimes answer to prayers from clerics... if they’re in the right mood - so that’s another way that legendary worship is more than just, well, worship, in this universe.
